Doesn't stay true to the anime.

For once I'm actually excited about an American remake. Hope they get it right. This was a bit of a flop for not staying true to the original story. Not using the original soundtrack score was another fail. The music was one of the best things about the Anime.

I didn't mind that, which is unusual for me; i'm normally a stickler for that kind of thing. But I didn't like the turn the anime took after L died, I didn't like the new L-wannabe characters that were introduced and how they defeated Light. I felt like they didn't deserve it. I wanted it to be Light vs L to the end. In the movies it was, and I liked that. The only major change I don't like in the movies is the way Light killed his own girlfriend.

By the way, the live-action movies were actually made before the anime. Both the live-action movies and the anime were adapted from the manga (which I haven't read yet, though I intend to).
