How and why can anybody produce a piece of crap like this?

reply

LOL... I knew when I came here, there would be an "awful" comment by someone... it's what I've seen about every movie the SciFi channel has shown today... I kinda liked it... I'm so sick of seeing comments about "awful acting", "awful editing", "awful adaption", and on and on ad nauseam... doesn't anyone just like movies anymore? I know I do!

I don't know why Sci-Fi continues to produce movies that are bad. Not campy, not tongue-in-cheek, just bad. In the early '90s USA used to show campy bad movies [Hell Comes to Frogtown, Ice Pirates, etc.,] that were enjoyable because of their intended campiness [if it was unintended, it was still enjoyable]. I miss this. The last campy one I recall seeing on Sci-Fi was 'The Apocalypse' with Laura San Giacomo clad in a gown, spouting Shakespearean quotes [tee-hee].
Sci-Fi could be USA's dumping ground for for these fun movies rather than their bizarre attempts at 'made-for-TV' Sci-Fi/Dramas that are insulting to their fans intelligence and are simply bilge water.

There's a good chance that these movies are produced because it's good business..plain and simple.

With a 700+ channel worldwide market plus dvd rental and sales and the fact you'll still be watching reruns in 10 years time...it becomes VERY cost effective programming.

Films like this are in turnaround very quickly.

And put even simpler. The investors in our own production company NEVER complain. They just count the $, regardless of the fact we don't win awards, are not famous...but make MONEY.

If we entertain too, that's a bonus.

Good point.
