EXCELLENT!

How well done is this Indie Gem? Everyone I know thought it was real until they noticed a couple of the "giveaway" scenes. What a refreshing delight this was!

I found it to be VERY well done, in that it REALLY seemed natural and non-forced for line delivery as well as flow! Where a movie like "Waiting For Guffman" has endless familiar faces and a lot of ridiculousness; "Chalk" has an absolutely sincere quality that propels the depicted series of events in the film. I JUST watched "Chalk" (in fact, the credits are running as I type this) and I'll be watching it again. The odd thing is that it has some minimally comedic moments, yet TRULY comes across as an actual documentary...blurring the mockumentary lines just enough to (more than likely) create the ever-eternal movie-viewer divide of "loved it" or "hated it" in specific regard to this film. While I believe both phrases are too strong; I'll say that I really found it to be well done, interesting and re-watchable. Also, when I was watching the movie, I was like; "WHO does the history teacher dude remind me of?" Then it hit me...YOUNG AL GORE! IF they ever make a Clinton/Gore movie, that dude NEEDS to play Al Gore...Check this picture:

Now, re-watch the movie and tell me you see no resemblance. Anyway, that crap aside; good movie...Make sure to see this one if you're a fan of documentaries and/or mockumentaries!

Caught it on Netflix. Outstanding, very real, I think, I can't imagine how difficult it is to deal with kids in public school.

I felt great empathy with Mr. Lowrey. If I were Mr. Lowrey, I think I would be going back to software engineering. Why should anyone be expected to teach delinquents that have no desire to learn?

I can't imagine why anyone would want to babysit the behaviorally-challenged kids in public school today. Our government has been working steadily at making the USA a "third world nation" for decades, and they may have finally achieved their goal.

Great performance by Troy Schremmer! Or is that just him, the way he is? Sure comes across that way, and THAT is a great performance.

Yeah, it totally reminded me of "The Office" for teachers. There were moments where Stroope was Michael (Teacher of the Year/World's Best Boss) and Webb was Dwight and/or Angela (the rule-following tattle-tale). I saw Reddell as Pam (the bumbling voice of reason) or Oscar (the sane voice of reason), and Guerrero as Creed right down to the napkin-bib. Did anyone else think that Lowry could have been Gabe?

This was definitely a quirky bunch.
