can someone just answer me please? I'm so confused.

No, this isn't a real documentary. The genre is called "mockumentary" b/c it's a spoof on documentaries & of teaching. It's done in much the same way as "Best in Show," "Spinal Tap," and "Waiting for Guffman." These films have a basic plot structure, but are completely improvised. As a teacher (formerly in Texas), I can say that this film is VERY true to life.

It was so close, but the one scene where you could tell it wasn't real was when the new teacher was dreaming about dancing with the gym teacher. There are no dream sequences in real documentaries. Also, the credits at the end told you the names of the actors playing the characters.

I went to the washroom and missed the cut scene where they show the PE teacher and new history teacher dancing in the hall so the first time I watched I thought it was real too! Then I saw it a second time and saw the scene I missed and felt really dumb because I had been talking about it to people at work like it was a REAL doc.
