He nailed it. Uninspired, and instantly forgettable. Another epic failure in what could have been something really awesome.
Honestly I thought he was too easy on AvP (the first one). Paul Anderson has an unmatched capacity for taking awesome stuff, and turning it into ****. He ruined AvP. He ruined Resident Evil. He wants to ruin Castlevania, but luckily it has been in development hell for years. Hopefully it will never get made by him or anybody he works with.
I'd really love to see somebody with some real vision and real talent reboot Resident Evil and do it right. Anderson's **** is NOTHING like what a Resident Evil movie should be. It's not scary, there's no tension, and I don't give a **** about ANY of the characters.
It's all whiz-bang action, special effects, machine gun, super-soldier nonsense. It's not Survival Horror at all. He missed the mark worse than Bay when he made Pearl Harbor, and that's an awful lot (sorry, but when you gotta steal, steal from the best).
