It's very common in Indian movies for some of the language to be English. It's part of the history and culture of India, after all.

I don't know, when I went to India I spent over half the time in small villages, where almost no one spoke English, and I don't remember hearing a bit of Hinglish. So perhaps it's more common in big cities.
