FTW, this movie is sooooo cliche

The story is maybe good, but for the rest: a grudge/ring ripoff.
Believe me, even in the daily pinoy programs (the low budget ones with only pinoy actors), they imitate the ring/grudge. JEbus not to mention it's asian 2, Japan must be so mad at their country below! OK don't call me a racist, because i'm asian myself. I'm just angry that they didn't got better ideas 4 this movie.

it wont matter watever you say man, they made a lot of money in this film and most of the people luved it. at least they can produce this kind of stuff. what about you?

reply

IT DOES MATTER! the idea was copied from other asian horror movies. can't we have our on idea to sell? it was blockbuster bcoz most filipino movie goers doesn't have the sense of quality when it comes to artistic demands

reply

Hey shouldn't the Japanese movie industry be proud of themselves. Because of their movies; countries like Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines imitate them. It's like they are trendsetters. If someone remakes your movie, then it's a sign of honor for you are being praised for the great job you have done.

Even Hollywood borrows ideas from foreign movies

1. 3 men and a baby - from a french movie
2. The Grudge Series
3. The Ring Series
3. Mojimbo (Akira Kurosawa) - A few dollars (Clint Eastwood) and last man standing (Bruce Willis)
4. 7 samurais - Magnificent Seven
5. El Mariachi (by Roberto Rodriquez) - Desperado (Antonio Banderas)
6.

There are more. Even Quintin Tarantino gets ideas from foreign movies.

They will even make an American version of Yam Lanaras Sigaw.

Yah, but as you know, this is one of the 'extreme' filipino horror movies. And i haven't seen another pinoy horror movie with something more original than this Grudge element in it...

extreme? maybe if you're d typical movie goer in d'philippines, u may call it xtreme, bt as far as bein spooky nd original at d same time.. try watching ITIM

reply

HOLLYWOOD HAS THE RIGHT TO DO THAT(they pay for remakes not actually stealing the idea). as far as example goes, a movie like "the seven samurais", hollywood stole the idea indeed, but hollywood still make tons of movies w/ style & originality, w/c differs from the idea of pinoy showbznes. we are always imitating!!!

tell me somthing i do not know, pls!!! and el mariachi? desperado is actually the sequel to el mariachi(same director)

It was basicly the grudge or ju-on with a way better storry for me. I had to live in Carmona when I was little and those little barrios can get real creepy. You know how hard it is to find somebody with just a name and an adress? When they were finaly in the same room I got chills. I like how they did that whole part. I liked the movie.Remember, use the magic twig wisely
