Yeah, this movie is very similar to A Walk to Remember. This just had the rich, bad boy whereas AWtR had just a popular high school bad boy.

reply

i liked this one better than walk to remember... korean actors/actresses dont just act the part, they live it.

reply

I agree. This movie is far better than A WALK TO REMEMBER.

reply

yeah, but i think it was a bit better. I think they were more believeable together, and the fact that 'love could kill her' was more emotional.

I loved this movie and I agree the acting level in terms of emotions is very good...however, I dunno what it was. The chemistry wasn't as strong as I'd liked. I mean they hardly had any strong 'moments' at least where there was good eye connection...cause before I knew it, it was like BAM! She is ill and the guy suddenly falls head over heals in love for her. I wish there was more build up I guess. The chemistry did grow stronger towards the end, I cried twice I think but with AWTR I remember balling my eyes out whereas in this one, I felt very sad but not as much...? I know I'm the only one who feels this way tho! lol.

Having said that, as with many Korean movies, the style/cinematography was jst stunning. In Asian cinema, the actors always look beautiful especially when they cry. Very inspirational overall.

reply

yeah that's what I also thought but there's only a few similarities.

- the illness
- the boy's character
- the play

but beside the two movies are very different in style. The Korean movie is very beautiful, I mean the photography, sceneries, music.. If you watch the US movie after this one you find it very Hollywoodish lol... too classic

... I like a walk to remember though!

reply

This Korean movie is a lot better than A Walk To Remember.

reply

I suppose you could say that but then again it's similar to a moment to remember also. As well as all other films involving young lovers where one party has a disease. I also recall some other Korean film where the guy is dying of something I forget what but it's something like Huntington's disease, that was pretty similar.

reply

Closer to heaven that's what it was called.

reply

I totally agree with you...The movie just shifted really quickly and it felt like they were trying to have more aspects then they could handle.

"A walk to remember" was building up the chemistry better. And he actually falls in love with her before he gets the diagnosis of the girl.

You should also keep in mind that "A walk to remember" was a low budget movie and was shot in only 39 days.

I think it's hard to say which one is the best if you would compare Baekmanjangja-ui cheot-saran and "A walk to remember" since they are good in different aspects. But there are other Korean movies out there that are alot better.

reply

Yes, i think the same..

reply

Thank you for tip ... dumbass.

I bought the movie and now I am not going to watch it.
