The writer, Tony Grounds, is well known for including a reference toWest Ham in all his screenplays, but funnily enough I did not spot it in this film. Maybe the fact that Ray Winstone and Danny Dyer were in it was sufficient West Ham connection.

After the disappointment of THAT game in May, and the comings and goings of Argentinians and Managers, I would like us to start 2007 by trying to STAY in the Premiership. That's all I wanted to say. By the way, we have a lot more famous fans as well, not just showbiz bandwagon jumpers (Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal etc...)

It was filmed in Coventry and the stadium is the Ricoh Arena. I assumed the team wasn't supposed to be any particular 'real' team, but seemed to be very much like Coventry City a few seasons ago, before they dropped out of the Premier League.
