Taken too seriously?

I quite liked Mayo but apparently it was slated.

Thing is, was it because it was taken too seriously?

I took it completely with a pinch of salt loved the kinda echo of Scooby Doo (and who takens Scooby Doo seriously?) and thought it was quite good.

Ah well, no more mayo for us it would seem.

Yeah i think that's definitely what happened. It doesn't mean to take it's self seriously but the critics did.

There seems to be some sort of mistake. I bought a drink and some popcorn and now I have no money

It was supposed to be 'quirky'.
The terrible, unfunny dialogue could only have been written by a child with no sense of humour.
It was awful. And the English do know what 'quirky' means. Apparently not the writers of the dreadful first episode.
