Movie advertised wrong

I saw the movie preview in a theater and it was definitely marketed as a light comedy. I just saw this movie on Showtime and it was more of a drama. Actually, a kind of sad movie, bittersweet, with an somewhat upbeat ending.

I liked the movie but find it hard to recommend. It's something I think you have to discover on your own.

I agree completely. Could've been marketed better.

I'm sorry to see so many people on this board think the characters are all deranged, but I can't say I feel strongly enough to argue against them. It's a tough little movie that I wish was a bit funnier -- I couldn't recommend this to just anyone.

I think you're both wrong. The first thing the trailer showed was the main character crying and discussing her dogs death. In no way does it ever imply this is some kooky comedy, but the bittersweet style of the film is quite apparent. You just assumed it was some over the top comedy because Molly Shannon is from SNL and generally does silly comedies.

Regardless of how a film is marketed, it should not effect how good (or bad) a film is. Marketing has nothing to do with a films content.
