Highly highly HIGHLY anticipated...

...at least by me.

I can't wait to see this film. I have been a "Harry-head" for five years now and have been frustrated by the lack of interest or attention given to a talent like Nilsson.

How is it that amidst all the remasterings and reissues of classic original albums by some of the great talents of the '60s and '70s, that the overwhelming majority of Nilsson's output (aside from the 'Schmilsson' albums) are out-of-print or only available as imports?!?!?!?

He was one of the most raw, innovative, quirky, and lyrical singing/songwriting talents EVER. Anybody know if a distributor has been secured, or when this movie will be released?

reply

well his music shows up frequently in movies...most notably in You Got Mail in which it is used almost exclusively

I've been a Nilsson fan for 38 years. There are 17 CDs, 9 LPs and one 45 in my "Harry" collection so it can't be that hard to find his music.

how about the fact that his final album was never released...
HOW ABOUT THAT #@$%&%@&#$
and I wish I could get a copy of Skiddo...
I hear Nilsson sang the credits...that crazy #&%$@#
and while I'm at it I wish I could get a copy of Son Of Dracula...
the one with him and Ringo

reply

yeah i totally want to see that. i heard that he didn't even like the script and that the only reason he did it was because he wanted to be in a movie with ringo. Amazing!!

I saw Son Of Dracula. Its a mess but, its has one or two moments where Harry shines.

Uncapie

I bought the Skiddoo soundtrack on LP back in the early 70s and it was basically trash. Nilsson's title song was pretty corny: "Skidoo, skiddoo, the only thing that matters is with who." I had many of the early albums on vinyl, but thanks to the web and eBay I have had no trouble replacing most of them on CD. Unfortunately there are lots of collections available which duplicate many of the same songs. I have to confess that my probable all-time favorite is "Nilsson Sings Newman," which has some of Randy's best tunes coated with Harry's irreplaceable voice. I had THAT album on 8-track!!

I have 'em both on DVD.

Neither one of 'em is anything to write home about.

Skidoo... it's hard to see talent like Groucho Marx (his last movie) and Jackie Gleason and Frank Gorsham and Carole Channing and Peter Lawford and George Raft and Cesar Romero and Mickey Rooney *so* completely WASTED.

Son of Dracula... again... so much talent completely wasted. Peter Frampton, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Klaus Voorman, Jim Price and Bobby Keyes ( of the Rolling Stones rhythm section), not to mention Harry and Ringo themselves... you just wanted them to forget the script and let this freakin' *band* play some more!!!
