No MOTELS in NYC??! stupidest film, waste of time!!

The movie got so weak after the first hr!

1.)Why the h(ell) didnt they just rent a MOTEL rm if they had all that money to throw away on an expensive dinner?? or get one of those rms w/ kitchenettes that charge wkly?? lol..effing stupid

2.)And he was a f--k up. After a nice dinner w/ your family on Xmas eve & drinking wine, you're feelin mighty good & in the xmas spirit...no one in his position, especially w/ 2 kids watching, would go that far over a petty a-- army jacket "EXCEPT" a f--k up. Think about it..somebody like us may take the coat back, but not beat a HOMELESS DEFENSELESS BUM unless John's character was a thug or robber already w/ that mind set! Shelters give away coats like that especially in the winter.

3.) Like someone else posted, how did he get into the Army or whatever military branch he served in without being able to read?

1) they weren't kicked out of the shelter yet. They spent the money BEFORE being kicked out of the shelter. I'm sure if they knew they had been kicked out, they probably would've saved the money for a motel.

On the other hand... How much money did they have? $184 ish? yEAH, that probably would have kept em in a motel for 2 nights. I highly doubt they spent THAT much money on the dinner where they wouldn't have had at least a LITTLE left over FOR a motel, but it was also xmas, the busiest night of the year so who knows...

2) He had just drank a whole bottle of wine with his wife. I'm sure he was probably just a LITTLE drunk. And a l,ot o boxers have anger issues -- from being hit in the head too many times perhaps. Finally, let's not forget that the first problem of the day filled with problems had to do with his jakcet missing. So maybe he blames the rest of the day's problems on that.

3) Is this a fact, that you have to be able to read to get into any kind of military branch? ... If so, perhaps he had someone forge his application to the army for him. Or maybe he was drafted? I think he said Gulf War. I dunno. This is probably a flaw, yeah, but he seemed to be the type of dude who liked to try to talk people into stuff, maybe for some odd reason he talked army recruiters into letting him in, you know... "So what I can't read, I don't need to know how to read to fire a gun." You know?

Strangely, I had watched CASUALTIES OF WAR the night before watching this, both movies on a whim, and leguizamo is in that movie... in the army.
