When do we get to see Rigged?

It appears this movie is out of post production, at least completed but I've yet to see anything on when it hits theaters or DVD. Anyone know when the public gets to see it? I know I'm anxious.

RIGGED will be hitting some festivals this summer, (check the website for details) in Los Angeles, Kansas City and Ontario, Canada. DVD possibly this winter, will post on the website as soon as something happens with it!
Thanks for the support

I spotted a DVD Screener doing the rounds today (12/9/08) and is from a R2 Source and called Fight Night.

Yep..... The movie was better than I thought although I didn't exactly understand the ending fully and I watched it over and over again.

For those who have watched it...... SPOILERS BELOW.

Dublin obviously does not buy his dream boat...he invests it in fixing up his childhood house.

Kat does not return home, instead, here is where I am confused, she ends up at Dublin's house on New Years asking him for a dance. Now, I don't know if they are together as a couple at the end, or who's the little girl since her name is not mentioned in the version I saw. The little girl says her mommie refers to snow as dust from angel wings....but, I have no clue on who her mother is. She doesn't call Kat mommie, she says Miss Kat, Miss Kat.

So.... I am simply confused on the final relationship between the 2 characters. Earlier it is mentioned that Kat was a lesbian, but she kisses Dublin near the end of the film. So... I was thinking she wasn't a full lesbo... Maybe bi-sexual. I also don't have a clue on where Kat is living if it's not with Dublin.

I'm assuming this.....

Kat and Dublin have moved into his childhood house with his mother....whether or not they are together, that's not clear. She mentions to him he owes her a dance, but that's about it. She looks more glammed up in the end compared to the rest of the movie.

SPOILERS:

The little girl at the end is Dublins daughter. If you remember earlier in the movie when he is at his hometown bar we find out he had a child with the waitress. We see the waitress again in the end of the movie dancing in Dublins house.. she looks over and smiles at him. Obviously Kat and Dublin live together, althogh I dont believe they are in a relationship. I didnt find the ending confusing at all.

I also understood the ending quite clearly, with the ex-girlfriend being in the house moments prior to Dublin exiting and the short conversation he and his daughter had outside it was easy to understand that the child was his daughter.

I believe Kat returned to Dublin's hometown(red Mansion) to be with him after observing her parents new found happiness with the child in the back yard as she peeked through the fence. Her inability to reject him in the ending by asking for a dance leads me to believe that she returned to be with him(she did comment about her need for others who care for her or something to that effect earlier in the film).

Though the film had a slight cliche' feel to it due to the subject matter being repeated in film countless times I enjoyed it and would view it again. I stumbled across this film on a website a few hours ago and put it on my "search for and buy" list after viewing it. I will check up on the two lead actors as well as the writer/ directors for future projects.

It may depend on the version of the screener you witnessed. The "Fight Night" version is about 12 minutes shorter and cuts out some of the crucial scenes between Dublin and Kat. One is that conversation with his baby's momma at the end.

When do the rest of us get to see Fight Night in theaters or DVD?

reply

Fight Night is available "On-Demand" if you have time warner or comcast cable. It will run until the end of February I believe. The DVD will release this spring and have deleted scenes and director commentary. It will then be on Showtime six months after the dvd release for a year and a half. Please spread the word!

I see its offered on Netflix and you can bet I have it on my queue list. Anxiously waiting to see it.

What were the other crucial scenes between Dublin and Kat on the "Rigged" version?

reply

Fight Night will be available on April 14th!

watched part of it last night, while it is lower budget i was pleasantly surprised with the dialogue and acting. I liked the dialogue because it seemed to go against the low-budget cliche's i am used to in those movies. The chick is easy on the eyes as well, i'll watch the rest tonight.

Kinda says the action is crap, but praises the other aspects of story, interestingly:
