Inspired by Twilight Zone episode?

There's a Twilight Zone episode called Long Live Walter Jameson which has remarkable similarities to this movie. It's also about someone who lived for thousands of years, married countless women, had countless children, and was lucky enough not to fall victim to illness or accidents. Anyone seen it?

I've watched it. I watched this movie first, though. I prefer the movie, mostly because the episode is too short to do anything really interesting with the concept. It's still a good episode, just not as good as it could've been, had it been longer.

For anyone interested, IMDb's page on the episode in question: Long Live Walter Jameson (1960)

Don't listen to the negative ones; their arguments are irrational.

Why would they have to be inspired in that specific title? It's one of many popular sci-fi ideas. People have thought about it for ages. It's also man's future. I can't imagine not achieving science-assisted eternal regeneration of cells let's say within 1 thousand years.

I've also read a few good short stories over the years based on a similar premise. "A Child For The Ages", and "Phoenix From the Ashes" being two I liked best.
