Worth upgrading to blu ray?

I love this movie and own it on DVD. I'm also aware of its low budget nature. That being said, the video on the DVD is unbelievably bad. I don't normally notice those sorts of things, especially with a movie like this (not visually heavy), but aspects of the video are actually distracting at points.

I understand the blu ray is also not great, but is it any better than the DVD transfer?

Also, with the upcoming sequel, does anyone think we might get a improved-quality rerelease? If so, should I just wait and hold on to my DVD for now?

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Someone else on this board wrote that the Bluray doesn't have commentary and behind the scenes footage. I also own the DVD and it has both.

As far as the video quality - save your money and buy the standard DVD. The BluRay quality was at best mediocre - I have standard DVDs that look better than this BluRay does. I would be amazed if this BluRay offers any improvement over the standard DVD - my guess is the BluRay is a simple copy of the standard DVD. Towards the end of the movie the video was not synchronized with the audio - I have never had that happen with a BluRay.

I have the blu ray, and the quality is pathetic. I can't imagine the DVD being any worse.

Worth upgrading to blu ray?

NO it isnt !
This is a great movie but if you are watching this movie and giving a second thought to the quality of the image you are missing the point.
