I can't figure out how David after ruinned his life, kill one person and cut two bodys in pieces for the pigs eat. And even after all this he can make love with Rebecca in the shower, well i supposed that they did.
This thing maybe happen with serial killers,whatever. But David wasn't a natural killer.
I wonder how he could make love after those consequences. Men just want sex no matter how he is, in good or bad situation.
I think maybe he was looking for something or someone stable at that point in the movie his head was all over the place like he couldn't focus on one particular thought just the guilt and the anger and all that there was going on in his mind was making him crazy...and she was there helping him along the way...keeping him safe as it were. So why wouldn't something happen...i mean it was kinda awkward and creepy that she just walked in the bathroom already in a towel but she was stalking him...it would have made less since if she had left him alone...you know?
And just for the record...i think an intimate scene like that brings the audience back to the ground...cause by that point your like so shocked by the fact that he actually was doing these things and that all this was just an accident that your just like damn. that sucks. and wow. he's actually cutting those people up. oh! and he's feeding them to the pigs. they are omnivores you know...just watching that the whole time I'm like ok...narly but ok...
and i dont think they had sex...just maybe fooled around a bit...cause with all that stuff floatin around in his head i highly doubt he'd a been able to get hard enough for any actual action...just a thought :P

shareI can see it happening. Not only is David a man... he seems like the 'arrogant, ego-driven, misogynist bull' that Rebecca describes in the end; the type that sees women as objects n whatnot. Afterall, he did have sex with the Audrey character pretty quickly as well.
But overall, I'd say it happens quite often where a person goes through SO much stress n whatnot in a short period of time that he/she just lets it all out in a passionate moment. It's probably just a hug or kiss a lot of the time, but with sex being as common as ever... it's not farfetched at all.
But spazmjr definitely brought up a good point... with that much stress in his head, he might not have been able to 'get it up'... ha.
I guess you are female. It isn't that men want sex all the time, it is more like if some hot girl is offering herself, no man will refuse it. Unless the guy's member is bleeding, missing, or there's a hotter girl offering herself right there.

It's late in the game, but my reading of the scene was that he was upset and seeking comfort (as in a hug so he could cry). But she kept kissing him and "forcing" it into something sexual. Possibly he could perform because of the let down from an extended period of fear and adrenaline. Or maybe he realized sex was an easier emotional outlet than just the crying after she kept pushing him towards it.
