Calling ALL Standoff fans...

We need your help!!!

Many of the Standoff fans on the FOX message board have decided to take a stand against FOX! We’re on a mission to keep FOX from canceling Standoff for good.

Some of you might be familiar with the events that took place with the CBS show Jericho. That show was officially cancelled by it’s network, but brought back for a second season when the fans protested. Hundreds of fans banned together and sent 50,000lbs. of nuts to CBS as a demand that their show be renewed… IT WORKED. CBS has picked Jericho up for another season all because the fans stood up for what wanted.

We’re sending packets of Splenda (or any artificial sweetener) to FOX studios as our way of protesting the cancellation. You’re probably wondering what Splenda has to do with Standoff, right? Honestly, not much. The only time the product is seen is in the opening scene of ‘One Shot Stop’, Matt tares open a packet and pours it into his coffee mug. It was a tiny insignificant detail, yes, but we needed an object that was easy to come by and somewhat affordable and that was it.

Please, if you really want to save Standoff, a mere $20 worth of Splenda (that’s close to 800 packets!) might help do that. I know that this sounds like a long shot, but there’s only one way to find out.

Mail your packages here…

P.S.~ If you plan on helping with this campaign please follow this one rule: Use caution when mailing your Splenda. If you use envelopes make sure that the sugar in a plastic baggie, we don’t want to take any chances with spillage!

P.S.S.~ If there is anyone out there that wants to help, but for whatever reason can't, I'm more than happy to give you a hand. Just e-mail me your name and address and I will either send you a box to mail out on your own or I'll send a box on your behalf.

Good idea, but my advice to people sending these splenda packets is to send the stuff inside it's original packaging, not to open it and put it in something else, after all, we don't want them thinking it's anthrax!

reply

Yeah, you're right. We talked about that on the FOX message bored.

Please put all Splenda in plastic bags, so no one gets the wrong idea!

Sorry guys, but the case with Jericho was different. Jericho had a story arc that fans invested their time in. After its cancellation, fans sent nuts to CBS not only to try to save the show, but also to tell CBS to "go to hell", which is what "nuts" meant in Jericho. People decided that CBS couldn't be trusted anymore to keep good shows on the air, so why bother wasting time getting questions that won't be answered? Even if they didn't bring Jericho back, they would get at least get a message. Also, Jericho had a LOT more fans than Standoff. The ratings were also higher initially; they dropped do to the rediculously long hiatus. The second season will only be 6 episodes that are used to resolve the story lines. It's almost a treat to the fans, and another chance to see if the ratings will go up. Shows like Standoff come and go and are quickly forgotten, and if its on FOX, don't even bother. They cancel great shows all the time. The only one that was ever saved was Family Guy.

The Splenda idea doesn't quite make sense either. If I were them, I would enjoy a load of free Splenda.

what a real downer its sad to see a great show go for good.
this is exactly why fox can choke and die.

This show was mediocre and it's ratings were terrible. Ron Livingston deserves much better and we will see him in better things to come. Remember he is the reason "Office Space" is a classic, and made the already best mini-series ever ("Band of Brothers," anyone that doesn't believe me NEEDS to watch it) even better. This show is canceled and the actors have moved on, get over it. I also bet you "Jericho" fans it still doesn't make it past this season.

Jericho isn't going to make it past this season and it never intended to. They're only doing like six episodes to tie up the loose ends and that's all the Standoff fans were really hoping for also. We just needed closure.
