When she started whining about being the fat girl and him being captain of the football team to invoke sympathy for herself AFTER she slept with rooster. The way she treats Rooster is awful since she knew he was in love with her. She called him over and basically ripped his clothes off. She's a very selfish character. Eddie needs to hook up with his old beautiful girlfriend. The Janet character is just worthless.
Well honestly I think it's better to say that actually both of them were at fault. Janet did call him over and initate but Rooster took advantage of the situation and let what he wanted come in the way of what was best for his friend. The only thing I did find odd was that Janet called him instead of Hannah or Pizza Girl.
I think they're rethinking the Janet/Eddie relationship. I think Eddie will hook up with big Cats ex. I seriously hope they don't go on a Janet pity party. Janet will end up with Ikei:) Also watch Aubreys father showing back up and is revealed he's really a Mafia big whig or hitman..
Well stray85 the thing is it takes two to cheat and both of them in that situation played their respective roles. So I think they are both to blame. But as to why she'd ask Rooster of all people to come over instead of Pizza Girl, Hannah, or Alison is puzzling.

she called rooster over because she knew he liked her as more than a friend. he was a sure thing, pretty much, in her eyes. i really don't think she meant to cheat on eddie, she was just in a sad, gloomy place and needed to feel loved again.
this definitely doesn't make her actions ok, and i lost most of the high regard i had for her character after the last episode. janet was one of my favorite characters from the beginning, but her very low self-esteem and self-loathing reminds me too much of real life; i think i like watching characters on tv that are similar to real life but better in some ways. (does that even make sense? lol) her relationship with eddie was far from realistic, anyway.

I think Janet called Rooster over (and asked him to bring alcohol) knowing she was going to sleep with him He may have said some things to help seal the deal, but I think that she invited him over in the first place knowing she was going to do something with him
Instead of confronting LaTecka she jumped into self pity mode...I mean the writing of this character is a complete bust..... I mean the dialog about the fat girl and the captain of the football team was just silly.
I don't think she called Rooster over just to sleep with him that just happend. I think that her cheating is out of character for her yes she's insecure but that's one thing and cheating is another.
She wants people to feel sorry for her because she was the fat girl in High School who couldn't get a date. I mean when she said that to LaTecka it sounded like she wanted to be given a free pass because of her past...I'm glad LaTecka kicked her to the curb.....she deserved it...
Every woman on this board can attest to this fact..
When we are feeling sorry for ourselves, as selfish as it is, we go to the person who is going to make us feel better, who is going to tell us what we want and need to hear... i know i'm guilty of it, i have many friends who are guilty of it as well... guaranteed that is what they had Janet doing in that episode with Rooster.
Any person who says they've never done this (not as far as sleeping with the person, obviously.. just going to someone else as a pickmeup)is LYING lol
She knew DAMN well what she was doing. Was she expecting forgiveness? Girl, please...
I didn't like that she made the relationship as if it were a fantasy come true. So she's not one of the skinny girls, so what? She paid too much attention to stereotypes and labels. Why was it such a surprise that Eddie chose her? Being the chunky girl didn't make her special, just normal like everyone else.
Eddie should hook up with his ex-girlfriend, there's already a history there. That'd teach Janet a lesson.
"HELLO???" She thought that her and Eddie were done, and that by the kiss that she witnessed that he had chosed his ex. I would have thought the same thing too, if I had low self esteem and his BEAUTIFUL ex showed up and then I saw them kissing, after he wasn't returning any phone calls??? Trust me that I hate cheating, but in this case I am pretty sure that she was greiving that it was probably over between them, I know alot of girls who would feel the same way, and well would react that way.... f/s4

That's the problem with you dames: you assume the worst instead of finding out how things really are. I just thought they wrote her character like that for effect, but apparently it happens in real life?
And just by one kiss? C'mon... really now.

Wow... I thought they only wrote men this way, but I guess they are this way in real life too? HE LIED ABOUT HIS EX BEING IN TOWN. He told her they had a visitor at the store... then told her it was Nick's Agent. Basically, it wasn't just a lie of omission... that would be just saying "a few people came in today" and leaving it at that. He gave SPECIFIC details and left the ex out purposefully. Remember, this is the man who stood her up for a date b/c he was embarrassed to go out with her in public. Those kinds of things don't just disappear! They sit in your memory. Also, they live in a small town that won't let the "fat chick" and "Capt. of the football team" stereotypes die. Shoot, the ex came back in town and it's like people started planning a wedding for high school sweethearts who had broken up ten years before! How could she NOT let those things affect her? They're shoved down her throat every single day! (Everyone who is from a bigger city with multiple high schools, name the capt of the football team your senior year. Now, everyone from small towns with only one high school... you do the same... I bet the latter group had a MUCH easier time remembering that the former!) As for why she called Rooster. She and Rooster (I keep wanting to call him Kirk!) work in a bar, ie, later hours to start their day. Hannah has a job, a son, an a-hole, I mean fiancee, an engagement party that was only a couple days away and a wedding to plan. Janet is the type who wouldn't bother Hannah with her issues at that moment cause she knew Hannah would drop everything to be there for her and as her friend, she knew Hannah didn't need the distraction. Why didn't she call Pizza Girl? Sry, I don't poor my heart out to people I haven't known but a few weeks. She's known Rooster since they were, what, 10 he said? Younger? Yes, he kissed her, but first and foremost, he's her friend and she wanted a friend at that moment. I'm assuming she and Rooster have gotten drunk together before! Once she started drinking, she chose to ask the leading question about the kiss, I'm assuming out of self-pity and drunken curiousity. I don't think the writers want us to believe she invited him over cause she knew she'd get lucky. She felt like crap, wanted a friend to cheer her up, he started telling her the things she wanted Eddie to tell her and she responded to them.
Now... I must say. I am NOT trying to condone the behavior. She cheated. She deserved to be dumped. But, do I hope Eddie opens his eyes and gives her a second chance? Yes. She's a good person, in my opinion, who made a really big mistake. I just hope that the writers don't turn that drunken, self-pity mistake into a huge story line... something like a baby? Yikes!
And, for all you guys who say she should have talked to Eddie... when's the last time you wanted to be confronted by your girlfriend while you're cheating and kissing another woman? (If you've even been in that situation to truly answer that, sry, I don't really care what your thoughts are! :) ) Seriously, poll ten women... Do you think men want to talk or be confronted about things like that? You may get ONE chick who says yes. Until men start acting like they'd want to talk about those things, we're gonna assume you don't want to or that you'll blow us off like you always do when we get into a serious discussion. And we'll continue to turn to our friends. I just hope for all you guys who condone what Eddie did at first don't have girlfriends with guy friends to turn to. (Then again, I doubt they'd do what Janet did. Not many women would... but, they could end up being reminded by these guy friends that they deserve better than a man who cheats. Yes, kissing is cheating... So is being emotionally invested in another woman, which I think they want us to assume Janet thought Eddie was. After all, you don't lie about things that don't matter.)
And, that's the end of my novel! If you finished reading it, please understand I'm not intentionally trying to be mean. I, unfortunately, identify with the character as being who I was before I got married. So, when people rag on her so much for things ASIDE from the actual cheating, I feel the fat, unpopular girl inside me want to defend her!
wow... all this and it's just a character on a show! they can't cancel this show!
Did you constantly whine to everyone about being a fat and unpopular girl to your potential bf's? and everyone else? I bet you didn't,I bet you found inner strength and moved on. Would you even go out with a guy who was ashamed to be seen with you? Would you just drive on by if you saw your bf kissing his ex? What I hate about Janet is they wrote her as such a wimp and she did cruelly play with Roosters feelings. She showed her true colors. I hope next season they make her more vindictive,I mean this show NEEDS more villains.
Okay, yeah, so her name is JANET, not Fat Girl, you pig. And I think shes a rather awsome character. So she was voicing her feelings, so what, thats a good thing. Shes not very experienced in the whole dating area and she felt horrible about what she did. Grow a heart.
you can think that. go right ahead. my choice is to think that any person who refers to someone, real or not, as 'Fat Girl' instead of their name is an insensitive pig.
Hey Kel, I love what you said! It was so clear! I wanted to say all of that and more, but now I don't have to. You are so right!!!
I would just like to add, thoughs of you(men&women), that choose to use words like "whore, skank, fat attentions seeker.." only serve to prove the point that women have known for 1000's of year's now.
If a woman is less then physically perfect in your eyes. If she does not meet your standards you feel it is your right to point it out to her and everyone else in the world, right? I mean it's only your duty to let her and everyone else know what you really think of her. This is because by her not being your ideal of a "beauty", she is less then human to you, right? She's not worth any kind of respect. You take it even further she's not only not worth respect she is just not of any worth, at all, right?
So yes, by all means, please continue to call this character ugly names. By all means call every woman you ever have contact with these kind of names. It doesn't matter what effect it has, because, these type of people aren't worth the spit you clean your shoe's with, right?
It doesn't matter people all over this world do this every second of the day to each other. It doesn't matter that as a human race on a whole these types of attitudes feed the worst part of a person's soul! None of that matters, because: 1. Its just t.v. 2. Its just anouther piece of crap FAT WOMAN. 3. It just matters to other whores and fat woman, not the people that really count. 4. Its not my problem it effects anyone else negatively. 5. Its the truth and all whores, fat, and women must know the truth or they will never change. 6. And most of all its because I'm right and everyone else is wrong!
Every post I have read on this thread that uses these type's of condemnation and ridacule only brings to light what kind of person you are. The person's that use these sweeping judgments for just a tv character, can only be showing us the reader how they really view people in the real world.
