Charming Animation

Normally I don't care that much about how a show looks, especially animated shows, so long as I enjoy the content of the show. But I am just constantly blown away by the animation in Little Einsteins. This is a show meant for 3-5 year olds who are satisfied watching very simplistic 2-d, 3-d, and claymation animation (just look at pretty much every other preschool animated show). You could argue that the creators don't need to bother with spending extra time making the animations look nice, but they do and the result is simply charming.

I am amazed with the details of the reflective water, the shadows as Rocket zooms over the earth, the many angles and perspectives as Rocket swoops through the sky from one adventure to the next, etc. I find the integration of 2-d, 3-d, and stock footage very interesting, as well as the way various art pieces and real locations are incorporated into the show. Some of the 3-d characters are adorable (Joey from Jump to Joey was my first favorite), I also like the witch from Brothers and Sisters, and the elephant made from the trumbone in Quincy and the Magic Instruments is really spectacular.

Bravo to the animators for a job well-done.
