Cancelled - why, why, why??!!

I really cannot believe this show was cancelled, especially when things were really starting to move along.

As always, I thought Matt Dallas (Kyle) was at his best in scenes with Jaimie Alexander (Jessi) and in season 3 Matt finally seemed to develop as an actor. My favourite episode was episode 8 of season 3, The Tell-Tale Heart. The scenes when Kyle was helping Jessi to remember what happened that night was truly amazing; you could just see the connection between them and it really seemed as though they were meant to be. When he was holding her in the tub after they discovered what happened to Sarah, it was so tender and played just right, with no words to spoil it.

I would love to see this show continue. Please ABC - make another season (or more!).

Not trying to troll or anything, but when it was shown here, I had always thought it was a pretty terrible show - It seemed like the sort of show that would of been canceled pretty fast. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did - It seems crazy they'd even risk ending with a cliffhanger.

IMO the story was extremely lame, the actors were either bad or average at best and the writing was extremely weak.

I understand that you, personally, didn't like Kyle XY. Any kind of art, which includes the creation of a TV series by writers, actors, directors and producers, is always judged individually by each of us.

Most of us can appreciate various forms of art, but, as with critics, there are always a few with different tastes from the masses. I would submit that you are one of them. Nothing at all wrong with that - we are not all the same. Perhaps the super-natural/Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre is of no interest to you. I know I don't like horror films.

My point here is that the series Kyle XY has a viewer rating of 7.8/10 on IMDb here, as well as 3.9/5 on Netflix. That means that approximately 78% of the viewers from both IMDb and Netflix liked this series.

I'm mentioning this because, while you thought the show to be lame, the acting weak, and thought it should be cancelled, 78% would not agree with you.

Perhaps the sponsors of the series leaned more in your direction? That could be why it eventual did get cancelled. The message the show was sending viewers was an important one: The value of good families and the acceptance of others unlike ourselves.

I also am not trying to be a troll, but I don't agree with your maths. Saying that 78% of people on IMDB liked the series is not true, only 685 people have voted on this series. So it was well liked by people who voted for it, but that is not an especially high number of people.

I personally didn't like the show either, but then I don't think it was aimed at my age group. It became a running joke with my wife, we would always accidentally catch part of the show on a Sunday afternoon, and accuse each other of secretly loving it, before turning over to something else. My wife particularly was quite vitriolic towards the show.

I don't think you understand the imdb rating system.

I agree with Sydney2011. I loved the scenes between Matt (Kyle) and Jaimie (Jessi) the most.

While Sydney2011 likes Season 3, episode 8, which was very good, I liked Season 3, episode 10 the best for the scenes between Matt and Jaimie:

1) The scene where Jaimie walks in on Matt folding a blanket was mesmerizing, and the music was perfect.
2) Then there was the scene were Jaimie asks Matt what happens when things become "normal" - does that mean Amanda? - and he says he doesn't understand how he can have feelings for more than one person. Then Jaimie asks if he has feeling for her and he says she shouldn't have to ask. The immediate look of acceptance in Jaimie's eyes was priceless! She looks for Nicole, so as not to get caught for what she is about to do, then she pulls Matt in for a big kiss. (This scene emotionally hit me the hardest!)

Those 2 scenes showed that Jessi was Kyle's soul mate, something Jessi knew all along but Kyle had to realize due to his attachment with Amanda. Amanda was pretty and pure, but Jessi was so much more!

So, we finally get to the point were the show is actually heating up and that's the last episode! Does he choose Jessi or Amanda? We don't know but I like think he chose Jessi.

It appeared to me, and I'm sure to others, that the show would continue because, if not, why bother leaving episode 10 with Michael Cassidy being Kyle's brother? Makes no sense.

In answer to a negative post here about the show, I would like to say this: I believe the acting in Kyle XY was every bit as good as any other similar series, such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Roswell, etc. These are supernatural TV series, and not real life. That seems self-evident to me but apparently not to all.

Finally, the message Kyle XY sends to viewers is how important a good family and acceptance (accepting Jessi) are to the health of our children as they grow. In the real world we need much, much more of this kind of behavior, this kind of thinking. Too many families fail because the adults in them are broken, perhaps having endured broken families themselves. Modeled behavior is extremely important but too often overlooked.

My husband just started watching the series and we just finished the last episode and he just looked at the tv and went "WHYYYYY!!! this is like showing the scene is Star Wars when Darth Vadar says 'Luke I am your father' and just ending it with no explaination, no third movie nothing...this sucks!!" yeah he is upset and so am I they could have at least wrapped up all the damn storylines with a tv movie or something not just leave us hanging like this!

I'm surprised by the vehemence of the non-fans comments, but, I don't care what they think, I LOVED the show. LOL. I'm with SLandGsmom on this one. I've watched many a series that was cut-off prematurely, and every time they end, I have to ask why the creator/producer/whatever can't at least tie up the loose ends. I loathe being left hanging. This is 3 series now I have gotten totally hooked on that they left twisting in the wind. Seriously, it's enough to make me not want to watch TV for another 10 yrs. O.o This is one classic reason why I prefer movies and books. They ALWAYS have an ending. ALWAYS.

Just finished watching them on netflix. I knew there were 10 episodes in the third season, so by number 8 I was like "ok, in two more episodes they will shut them down and everyone will be happy." It is always bizarre when shows get canceled after a season so no one has the chance to wrap anything up.

They should have at least gave this show 10 more episodes like they did with Greek. Deciding to cancel a show after a season ends is such a b**ch move. At least give them the opportunity to complete plots and storylines not end halfway though them

I still long to wake up one day and see that ABC is making another season for Kyle XY. It was life changing. It had dept. It had great character development, something that a lot of shows now lack. I can't believe they canned this awesome, one of the best shows ever for the Secret Life of the American Teenager. I mean really? Secret Life is crap. It's a show where the word "Sex" is used 26-52 times per episode. -_-

Was really a joke to not at least have a finale .. The last words said in season 3 Eps. 10 were .... Cassidy was Kyle's brother ,, and that was it ????? BS

I didn't think they had romantic chemistry I always thought of them as brother and sister. The writers never gave kyle and amanda a chance to have chemistry, he could tell the Tragers about his life but not Amanda....Jessi seemed too dependent on kyle, stalkerish and psycho jaimie played her part wonderfully. But I don't like the idea of her and kyle together. Kyle should have been alone then in the future as amanda realizes what kyle is they get a chance to be together and have a relationship. Jessi had soooo many issues to deal with abandonment, co dependency, rage, jealousy, etc. I would've liked to see her character develop to be more caring, less selfish, less stalker, less creepy, less dependent.
