Prob The Best...

...Collection out there. Sounds great & Ray, Robby & John have a running commentary thru the whole 3 hour DVD. (Guess that was back when they were all getting along). Score it.

I agree. This one is the best but definitely check out The Doors in Europe 1968 narrated by Jefferson Airplane. There's some great footage I've never seen plus that infamous scene from the movie by Oliver Stone where The Doors are getting on the plane giving their names and positions in the band. The actor who played Ray in the movie totally had that clip nailed but, sorry to Val Kilmer, he did NOT do justice to the expression on Jim Morrison's face or tone of his voice.
I was so excited to see that actual clip I'd recommend renting Live in Europe 1968 just to see that clip.

I love on this collection how they broke it out into the different stages The Doors went through during such a short time period. The interview during The Soft Parade segment is historical in itself. I remember reading about it in the book "No One Here Gets Out Alive".

There will never be another Jim Morrison. He really started the whole "shock rock" for many genres to come in the future....wish he lived to see what he created.
