Cool Zombie Movies Vs. Stupid Zombie Movies

My favorite zombie movie is Fulci's Zombi 2 (or Zombi) ... all the sequels were total junk (stupid zombie movies). ZOMBIE FARM looks like it has a good story and good acting. Most of these movies are poorly acted. I have seen many of the actors and they are good actors. Even for all his crummy movies, Joe Estevez is a good actor. And John Philbin has been in movies like Tombstone and Return of the Living Dead. A lot of the low budget actors like Jed Rowen are in tons of movies too. Jed is usually the only good thing about his movies, but I think this will be different. It looks cheesy, but knowingly so. I am really excited for it.

BEST:
I can't help but say Night of the Living Dead (Original) is the best. The rawness scares me every time. Love all those movies(inc. Return of the living deads too) Also The Zombie Dead is amazing for freakiness.
WORST:
People will hate this, but i didn't like 28 days later at all. It bored the hell out of me. That's the only zombie film i don't like, because it's my favourite genre. Which says it all for me.

BEST: I gotta agree. Night of the Living Dead is one of the best for it's uniquenes. Evil Dead II is also one of my favorites, but is that a zombie movie or just a possession movie? The Stink of Flesh is also pretty cool for a low budget zombie flick. It looks like it was shot on DV, but if you have the chance, watch it!

WORST: I recently watched Zombie V: Birds of Prey and it is absolutely horrid. Couldn't get much worse.

I haven't seen the DEAD NEXT DOOR, but I've heard it's good.

MY COOL ZOMBIE MOVIES:
1) Dawn of the Dead (Romero)
2) Zombi 2 (Fulci)
3) Evil Dead 2 (Raimi)
4) Dead Alive (aka Brain Dead by Peter Jackson)
5) Return of the Living Dead

HONORABLE MENTION:
1) The Stink of Flesh is different, low-budget, but entertaining. I bought a homemade DVD-R from the director on eBay and still enjoyed it.
2) Bubba Ho-Tep is about a mummy, but is a mummy a zombie? If so, this would be number one on my list.

5) Any of the Return of the Living Dead Sequels
4) Route 666 (what has become of Lou Diamond Philips?)
3) Dead Men Walking (the Sci-Fi channel seems to have a monopoly on crummy zombie movies)
2) Zombie 5: Killing Birds (yeah, I bought the Zombi boxed set and this was the stinker of the three).
1) Zombiegeddon. I bought this in a store. Has anybody else seen this. It is SOOOO bad. It looks like something a group of junior high kids would have made after a few hours of getting high.

Fulci is a tool and sucks ...plain and simple ...his films have little to no continuity ... one person gets bit and it takes hours the next one gets bit and is instant zombie ... jesus he sucks .... i said it and i ment it ... as for good zombie flick and bad ones ..i own over 600 horror films ..trust me i have them all ...good and bad

Watch The Beyond and tell me Fulci sucks. If you don't enjoy that movie on some level, you're just plain close minded.

Planet Terror (threw that in there because I really enjoyed it. Great action-packed homage to all the old zombie movies. Elements from day of the dead, the beyond (hospital scenes), whatever else)

There are a lot of good zombie movies. But for every one good one, five bad ones are made.

GOOD:
Dead Series(of course)
Return of the Living Dead (Just the first one)
Brain Dead/Dead Living/Dead alive/ whatever Peter Jackson wants to call it, the mower scene gets me every time.
Evil Dead I-II
Army of Darkness so intentionally bad that you have to laugh
Last Man on Earth (original movie version of I am Legend starring Vincent Price)
Shaun of the Dead
Resident Evil

Surprisingly Good:
28 days/ 28 weeks
House of the Dead 2- Hear me out on this one. It was low budget and the effects were not that great, but it introduced a couple new concepts and was very watchable.

Bad:
House of the Dead
Day of the Dead 2: Contagium(Confusing AND unwatchable! -5stars!)
Shadows of the Dead
Gingerdead Man( I Demand That hour of my life back when I die)

What do people think of Zombie Diaries? I liked it, but hated the ending.

yeah, I actually ended up enjoying house of the dead 2, because my standards were SO low after the first one. It's pretty decent.

I just need some clarification here. Why are you guys putting 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks later on your list of zombie movies. The "infected" do not eat people. Hell, they don't even bite anyone. They spit at you and beat you to death. A zombie is a reanimated corpse with a hunger for human flesh. I'm sorry, but I can't put either of the 28 movies in the zombie movie category.

Anybody on this board actually seen Zombie Farm? I notice its not on any list good or bad. I can't find it for download anywhere and its not on netflix. Apparently it played at a bunch of festivals, but I usually hear about that stuff after the fact. Looks like you can buy it on Amazon, but I would rather just rent or download.

I'll reply to myself. Saw it. Liked it. Good for a low budget horror/comedy. If you like low budget zombie movies this is a very enjoyable one.
