i cried

Oh my gosh.
This movie made me cry so much, and I never really cry in movies. The movie was just beautiful, and amazing. I liked the plot and i really liked the time period of the 1950's. I wont forget this movie. A true love story.

Oh, I cried so much it was audible! More than any other movie.

You're so vain! You probably think this post is about you.

Would you mind describing what parts you cried at during the movie? I thought the most emotional part was when the main character saw the preacher off at the train station.

The parts I cried the most for in this order:

1. When Will was writing a letter to Elizabeth after he found out about his condition. So sad and sweet.

2. When Elizabeth found out that Ben really wasn't dead.

3. When Will found out about his condition.

You're so vain! You probably think this post is about you.

i cried on all those parts and at the end when everyone is thanking her and when Ben shows up and they start dancing. It was so sweet. I dont think it could have had a better ending.

I pretty much started crying when Nicholas dies and I didn't stop for the whole rest of the movie

reply

oh yes..me too! I totally cried watching this movie...especially at the end when she is dancing with Ben and then it morphs/flashes back to when they were young..

To me, one of the most touching scenes was just before her husband died. He'd had Alzheimer's and yet, he still remembered that she chose him over Ben. I loved when he said to her "Thank you for choosing me" just before he passed away.

I cried at various parts of the movie.

1) When Ben was telling her that he was going to Korea
2) When she saw him off
3) When her dad died
4) When she found out Ben wasn't gonna come back
5) When Nick & his wife dead
6) When Will found out about having Alzheimers
5) Before he died

Just how close can I get Lord to my surrender without losing all control.

I didn't cry once.
Could be because I am a 61 year old man.

Still, it was interesting to see a Hill Street Blues veteran as old Will and Boys in the Band's Alan as old Ben.

"My will is strong but my won't is weak"

I haven't cried at all yet & there's just about 20 minutes left. I was pissed that she married milquetoast Will so soon after hearing Ben was dead & livid when she stayed with Will rather than divorce him & be with Ben (the true love of her life). I didn't even flinch when her kid & DIL died in a car crash. Am I to understand that Ben became a priest after finding out the love of his life married some boring guy? Based on other postings, I know that she & Ben wind up in the end but who cares? They're already old & near death's door. A very disappointing movie...
