Christmas Lights???

Only a complete fool would ever put christmas lights on or around a horses stall or even in a barn period(even in those days). Firstly, it is a fire hazard that most people wouldnt ever take a chance with. And secondly(atleast in the movie) the horse can and will reach through the bars, wiggle them into their mouth and chew on them. Electrical shock = death.

You know, the barn I go to has had Christmas lights hanging for at least 8 years, and it's still standing. And the horses that have died, died of old age or reasons not at all related to the lights. (Just pointing this out, I'm not trying to start a fight here.) Though I do agree with you, it's not a good idea to put them where the horse can get to them.

without having the tape to reexamin, i have to say that to me, it looked like the lights were not strung on a stall door, but rather on part of a wall outside a stall- not in a place where the horse could reach it while inside...

"Ooh!Pass the popcorn! This is gonna be good!"

The lights were strung across the outside of the bars in the front of the stall. Bars wide enough that a horse could twitch his lips in a manner that he could get the wires/lights into his mouth. No different than hanging a fan and running the cord along the bars where they could get at it.

The people that run that barn hve been fortunate and they're taking a foolish chance with the lives of their clients horses.

The stalls have bars in front of them (Those that bear the lights). Christmas lights are often used in barns, as long as you're careful, you're fine.
