At age 93, one of the greatest trainers this sport has ever had (not just for the horses he trained, but the WAY he trained them, which was old-fashioned and didn't rely on drugs) has died.

He was one of a kind, as was Ruffian.
Yeah, noticed it on TBH and the video came today. I watched the movie in a different way.

Thank goodness he was spared the tragedy at Churchill Downs the following day.
RIP Mr. Whitely, Ruffian, & Eight Belles. Long may the ladies run in heaven!
