Towards the end when Lieutenant Jim Dangle returns back to Reno and tries to explain his return someone asks him

-So they find out that you are...?
and he answers -Yes they have zero tolerance about that.

So what is he?

If you listen to the in character audio commentary with Dangle, Wiegel, Junior and Williams, they talk about why Dangle got fired from the Aspen sheriff's department. It had something to do with a miscommunication in what Dangle thought was a "communal shower".
