wow....highly disappointed in goal 3

Just watched the movie... terrible. i was looking for the cyanide and razor blades afterwards.

First off, santiago doesnt play a main character and is always seen as the third wheel.(also he looks like an idiot with long hair, and looks like hes gained a pound or two...more like 20)

The movie is well over dramatic, and the shots are awful...looks like the whole thing was shot in a warehouse in front of a green screen. The only main character to come back(besides the hooligans and the tiny handful of football players) was Kuno Becker.

As for actual football play, there is maybe 15 minute of the movie where we even remember this is a football movie. The beginning made me feel like i was watching a cheap porno. Had to check several times to make sure i was watching Goal 3 and not something else. This movie was a terrible spin off and should be burned and forgotten. I was a fan of the first two movies and highly disappointed this wasn't finished the way it should have been.

I agree. So disappointed. Bait and switch, shouldn’t have even call this move “Goal 3″ Santiago Munez isnt even the main character. Production cost went way down on this movie.

same here, just finished watching it.... Goal 3 = Huge Failure.

yeah, the acting wasn't that bad but the plot was just not right. Everyone was hoping for Santi to play the world cup.
And then again all the football movies were just too familiar. Just goals taken right out of the last WC.
Anyway my guess is that the director thought the national team of Mexico was not famous enough and he probably just didn't have enough footage of that team to make a "decent" film.

Also very annoying:"Liam misses the penalty and after loosing takes of his shirt with a sad message about his deceived friend and no teammate comes to comfort him." And apart from the one minute silence and the T-shirt there is no indication on the field anybody of the players really cares. Well that's crappy television folks.

It would have been better if Santi just would not have showed up in this movie, in stead of supportering for England all the time (guess his own national team was not worth celebrating for, dunno...)

BAH!

Love the first 2 movies, this was simply put, a steaming pile of *beep* very disappointed :(

I Agree! Still mad about the story and poor quality of movie. First 2 were awesome! I really wanted him to work it out with his girlfriend, married and baby and juggle that with the world cup. even glen and his other buddy from the team weren't in it. ahhh... wish i could forget this one and have them release another to continue from the second one...

well said,
summarises it pretty well

Agreed I've been waiting so long for this and find out the 2 main chars weren't even in it! WTF!

While watching this film.... I was WTF????

I really enjoyed both the first 2 films (especially the first)

But come on if you wanted to make a stand alone futbol movie, that has nothing to do with the first 2 films then great go ahead and do that. By the way if this film was not titled Goal 3 I would have enjoyed it alot more. Actually it's not bad.

The real problem I have... Is that it is called Goal 3 and after investing years of waiting, we get duped. Santiago's journey didn't have to lead him to a World Cup victory... but to not even play 1 game. Unless they are planning Goal 4 with the footage from the next World Cup this film will go down as the biggest "bait and switch" or biggest deviation from the previous story lines in film history.

omg, goal 1 and 2 were fricking amazing !! i couldnt wait a second to watch the third movie ! but all we got is a really TERRIBLE movie ! nothing to do with the previous movies ! NOTHING !

honestly, i hate this movie :)

I agree, this movie sucked badly. They basically put in about 5 minutes worth of cameo from Kuno and focused the rest of the movie on two totally new characters. I can't even tell what this movie is supposed to be about...it's some confused mix of romance, soccer, and family issues.

Other than the whole world cup thing, the plot was just wandering all over the places. It's like they totally ran out of ideas after Goal II (which they did with the whole Lamborghini joy ride sequence) and the directors were desperate to make more money so they decided to throw together a random milieu of day time soap opera ideas with some half-baked soccer sequences. It's supposed to be a film about soccer: not a 1/10 soccer, 1/3-romance, 1/3-family drama, 1/3 personal redemption story. The plot really feels like some cheap day time tv movie.

Extremely disappointed in this film. The first two Goal! movies made you want to be Santi and love the sport. This film was pure garbage. Green screens??? Come on! Santi not the main character? Are you insane! The beginning felt like a porno movie was in the making. This is outrageous, directors and writers like this shouldn't exists in this world. It doesn't matter what budget you had, you can make a decent story line with or without the money. Give me a break!
