Munez Girlfriend

I am wondering why they didn't put munez girlfriend in the third movie, she was clearly pregnant with munez child in the second one.... i have to admit i didn't like goal 3 a bit. it was ridiculous........

my guess is that Milkshake Films or the producer of the Goal! series were lacking the appropriate funds to pay the actors that played these wonderful supporting roles...

It's not a movie but Robert Rigby who wrote the novelizations of Goal! and Goal II wrote a third Goal novel called Goal: Glory Days. I'm assuming this is based on the original planned script for Goal III so you may want to check that out. You'll see what happens with Santi and Roz, the baby, the World Cup, etc. A movie would have been preferred but at least you'll get a more satisfying conclusion to Santiago's story.

I think the reason why Anna Friel who played his girlfriend was not in this movie is because she was tied up with the show Pushing Daisies. I wondered myself why she wasn't there or at least a mention of her. We saw she was pregnant at the end of the second movie.

From the wiki:

Unlike in the first two films, Roz, Gandhi, Glen Foy, and Gavin Harris do not feature in the film. Santiago implies that he and Roz did not get back together following their separation. As shown in the second movie, Foy was fired by Santiago. As for Harris, it was time he retired. All actual professional footballers are shown through stock World Cup footage. The sporting role of the actors in this film is limited to the green screen. In selected scenes, professional lookalike Derek Williams is used as a double for Sven-Göran Eriksson. This movie reveals the possible end of goal trilogy as the dream ends.
