Leighs Attitude Stinks No Wonder His Films Do!

I'm sorry but your handling of criticism on this site is deplorable.A user comments that they thought your movie stunk. And you sink to the level of assuming this person lives with their parents. This sounds like a response straight out of a "yo mamma" fight. Are you still in grade school?Like it or not,you cannot please everyone all the time and I think starting a "text fight" on the internet with some of the people that spent their hard earned money to rent your "vision" is very unprofessional. You go as far as to attack their grammar?I've seen this in chat rooms etc.Not from a "professional".I couldn't make it through 5 minutes of this movie. The acting was bad.The sound was horrible. When they open the casket with a pry bar one would expect the sound of nails being pulled out of the wood. But all you hear is what reminds me of the old time radio days where someone would just scuff their feet back and forth on some sand. And yet Leigh blames post production. The women in the film appear to be chosen on looks.Like Lara Crofft wannabes. The topper is this movie has NOTHING to do with Bram Stoker.Which leaves me wondering about the legality of them using his name. All in all if you have to lie about whos involved with your movie, people will doubt your credability.Whats next? Tom Hanks' Dracula? M Night Shyamalan's Dracul? Woody Allens Vlad The Impaler?

word. this film was toilet and the quicker the producers put their pipes down the better off we will all be.

Deplorable? Why do some people think that one should answer inane, personal attacks with mea culpas and humility? If someone wants to talk intelligently about something, I will. You say "yo mamma" and I'm supposed to say "thank you for watching the film, sorry I suck"? Really?

And if you're going to criticize my movie, which took several months of hard work, why can't I criticize your snarky little email? Hardly fair.

I come on here because it's fun. I look for intelligence and to talk to other film fans and fans of my work. That may be unprofessional. But I don't really care. The film industry is constantly changing. Maybe in five years every film director will talk directly to the fans. Perhaps I am a trend setter!

As for your comments, I don't know where to start. You go off on the sound design, yet say that I am somehow wrong for criticizing the post production. Is sound not post? Does the director sit there and add sound effects or decide how much time and money are spent on post?

And nothing to do with Bram Stoker? Hmmm. Maybe if you watched more than five minutes you would understand.

Buddy, I`m not going to get into your movies because honestly I love them, but not for the reasons you`d want me to. But just a word of advice.when you said ``You say "yo mamma" and I'm supposed to say "thank you for watching the film, sorry I suck"? Really?``

Well I have a good answer for you. Just don`t respond man. IF someone compliments you go ahead and thank the,, and if someone insults you on a personal level then go ahead and bitch them out, but seriously, if someone says ``man this guys movies really suck`` just leave it be. We`re just people at home downloading and renting your movies, when someone of note insults it you can duke it out with them, but why do you honestly care that some guy surfing IMDB didn`t like your flick.

Wow.. I just rented this movie tonight but I haven't watched it yet. I have to say, I am actually quite excited to watch it now! I really, really want to know what I will think and if I will like it or not. I'll post back here (I guess in my own thread...) to say what I thought and felt about this film. People seem to really hate it but I've also seen some who have liked it... or appreciated parts of it. So yeah, I'll watch it and say what I think. Can't wait.

Interesting... so first the director states that:

"The Bram Stoker thing was something dreamt up by the Asylum's marketing department. We had a variety of better and more appropriate working titles before that."

but when somebody complains about the title it suddenly becomes:
"And nothing to do with Bram Stoker? Hmmm. Maybe if you watched more than five minutes you would understand."

Just because you have a 'surprise twist' where one of the characters is Dracula that doesn't make this Bram Stoker's. Or you might as well say Bram Stoker's Love at first bite, or Bram Stoker's Dracula 2000, or Bram Stoker's Blade Trinity. You put Dracula in something and that doesn't automatically make it 'Bram Stoker's. I don't even call the 'official Dracula sequel' Dracula the un-dead 'Bram Stokers' because it's not by Bram Stoker. It has Bram's characters (sort of) but it's not Bram's idea or characterization. It's Dacre Stoker's only just as this is not Bram Stoker's story. It was an attempt at exploitive marketing and it failed.

By the way, Leigh did you ever read Dracula... at all!? The Brides were NOT brides at all. They were his daughters. If you read the novel you'd know Jonathan noticed a physical similarity to Dracula so this is nothing like Bram Stoker's story.
