HORRIBLE..why was dracula wit keanu amazing but the rest..SUCK

reply

Can anyone take a guess as to what the above poster is talking about? I know I'm lost.

reply

Think they're talking aboot the real Drakula, King Farouk.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

reply

i think he means that Bram Strokers Dracula with Keana Reeves as Jonathon was the only good dracula movie whilst the rest sucked.

i think i might go rent it rather than see this new one.

reply

oh, come on. This movie was bad, yeah, but I couldn't stop watching. Almost falls into the "It's so bad it's good" category. What did you expect? It's a B-movie, with B-movie acting (some of those actors/actresses really need more acting lessons) and B-movie special effects, but the story is solid.
Give it a watch. You'll likely bust up laughing at the timing of some of the lines, not to mention the way some of the lines are delivered. I know I was entertained, and that's what movies are for!

As the movie is playing I am typing. The movie was or is okay if you just want to learn how not to make a b-movie look like a d-movie. Is there any movies worst than a b-movie? I would say this one was.

Gotta call you out rko290. I suspect because you wrote almost identical things about another Asylum film that you are in fact someone with an axe to grind, hiding behind an online handle. Not fair. Not cool. These forums are for people to share opinions and discuss films. They are free to say good and bad things to be sure. But just venting because you don't like us for personal reasons is a misuse of the IMDB.

If I'm wrong and you don't know us, but just really hate our films, than so be it. But I have to say repeating that you are an "indie filmmaker" over and over again without putting down your real name or linking to your IMDB page is a bit pathetic. Either you haven't made anything of note (or at all), or you are afraid to stand up and make your real opinions known. Regardless, it is difficult for me and other industry professionals to respect you and learn from your feedback.

reply

Calling me out? I don't think so. I axe no movie unlet it bore me or is totally a flop in MY BOOK. And that is MY OPINION. No need to vent on a computer, not my style.

First leigh-72 I don't hate your films, as a matter of fact I liked Jolly Roger: Cutter's Cove, Evil Eyes, Detour, King of the Ants and When a Killer Calls. So you are wrong there buddy.

Second, why in the hell would I give my name on a broad or a link? Dah! That's like a CB trucker giving his name and the truck he's driving. Real smart leigh-72.

Third and last, if you have read some of my other posts you would have seen that I am paid to film/video stage plays and musicals at a local HS and will be adding more schools next year. Plus package it and sell the DVDs. Foremost I am a cinematographer with my own Panasonic 24p camera as well as 2 16mm cameras. A K-3 and a Arriflex SB. And it really does not matter if you or anyone else think that I am making films. I know and the people I sell to knows. Now can you and other industry professionals learn from this feedback?

By the way, I attended the ShowBiz Expo from 1994-2004 as well as the NAB and the CineGear Expo. So much for playing making movies....

Have any of you posters actually taken time out to just register how much work the cast and crew gave into this movie? The average viewer just fast forwards through a film such as this one without taking one second to think about other aspects other than the visuals. The writing here is as solid as you're gonna get for a low budget effort, and the acting was great in my opinion for this type of low budget film...

As a horror film critic I've watched some bad stuff. I'm talking about *beep* that makes your toes curl, your sphincter sphinc and your beer go flat. It's part of the job. I enjoy it though because I love horror.

Whenever I get the opportunity to kick back and watch an Asylum film I know I'm going to be watching a b-movie. There's no big surprise there. There's no insult in saying The Asylum makes b-movies. Corman made b-movies...Band made (and still makes) b-movies. The Asylum serves up exactly what make b-movies so damn fun. Super hot women, passable dialogue, a monster or two and a conclusion. Anything more than that and it's simply a plus.

Dracula's Curse was a fun film and I'd gladly sit in front of an Asylum film, hell even a film of Leigh Scott reading A Tale of Two Cities in his boxers for 45 minutes, than pay $9 to go see When A Stranger Calls or Stay Alive.

Give Dracula's Curse a try! Just hit the couch or the lounger, crack open that bottle of Jagermeister, pour yourself a few shots and relax.

Ok now I watch alot of b grade movies and I quite enjoy them. I know when I watch them that they are supposed to suck, that is the curse of low budget productions. However this was probably the best B grade I have ever seen and so far I have just about every thing from the Sci-Fi channel Saturday movies. This I think was well worth renting and one of the few I would watch more than once.

reply

I gave the movie a try and it's virtually unwatchable. Perhaps a bit of humour would have helped this movie. It was simply bad. It would have passed as a porno if there were some sex -- the acting and dialogue were in the same class. And I do like the occassional B movie. Just not this one. Weak all the way around, (although for low budget, the production was a bit more slick than I expected).

Whoaaa! This thread was an eye-opener. I haven't seen the movie so I can't comment on it one way or another but after reading the previous posts I realise there can be a LOT of people with their own personal axes to grind making posts to the movie's IMDB board. I think I'm going to stick to external reviews from now. I'm sure those guys have their own little axes too but I'm pretty sure they'll be relatively impartial.

(PS: The director in this case was upfront about his identity so I'm not trying to imply anything against him.)

I appreciate this film required some effort to make and was a labor of love with a limited budget. There's such a vampire film that I am fond of that has these things. Demon Under Glass. But Demon Under Glass was creative and original. This... not so much. This felt like a knock off of Blade Trinity (It's playing right now behind me on Chiller, that's why I came to this site). This has some badly delivered lines and unsympathetic protagonists. 'Now that they think we have a truce we'll wait until they let their guard down and kill 'em!' No one is truly sympathetic or relatable. There's heavy handed efforts at being 'edgy'. I like characterization. This has nearly none. It's frenetic like it doesn't know what to do with itself. Even Dracula, himself, was a let down. He made a deal with dark forces to be human and destroy evil (that... doesn't sound very dark). But if he can never reveal who he was or the spell or whatever breaks? Really? ...This is sillier than Dracula being Judas. You could have at least made SOMEONE sympathetic and interesting.

reply

I understand your point of view...I haven't watched all of Dracula's curse yet (too action ladden for my taste) but if it's the kind of sh*t we see in Hollywood mainstream releases like blade, dracula 2000,3000 and what the hell else, then it will suck bigtime! You want vampires, try Fullmoon productions... Dracula (19992) was ok,but not the best... Fullmoon,I repeat...

reply

reminds me of power rangers, you just keep laughting

first there is the sound, so horrible going from low to high and low again, there there are the actors, girls beating a vamp lol
buffy atleast had/have superpowers :P

and the boxing hahaha, what was that ?
she hit the sack like she never ever seen a movie where they hit a bag even :P

then in the ring hahaha, lol at the overhand right the blode chic does, she draw powers from the roof or something, and then the other girlcounter with another overhand as high as the other haha

is this a student film or something?
like no pat check or something and actors just friends with eachothers ?

if it is then it is a nice 5/10
but if this is to be a real film then it is only ½/10 or even lower

I could not bare to watch it all the time, I had to skip some very terrible parts, then I decided to skim it thru to see if there was a naked girls as there often is in movies like this :P

no thanks...i don't drink...blood.

?????

this movie is on as i type. But it is still painful to watch. I have just put it on fast forward...but i don't think it will help!

Remember "slingblade"?

Such a great movie...made with no money...and before Billy Bob was ever known...but such good writing, acting, etc.

this one...i would have to agree with a vote of 2/10.

Hi guys, although this movie has got poor out of ten marks, it is a cool movie.
The lead actress Eliza Swenson is also the lead singer of the band "The Divine Madness" whose songs are a major part of the soundtrack, for some reason in the band she calls herself Victoria Mazze, she is stunning and a voice to match. so much so I found the bands website and bought their debut album.

Watch the movie, check out the band and see what you think xx

I'll tell you how cool this movie is. Do you remember those fake vampire fangs that as kids we used to buy for halloween? You know, the all-in-one upper-teeth-lower-teeth, some glowed in the dark, cost a quid and you couldn't speak properly with them in? Yup? Well thats the limit of the Special Effects in this film.

Ps Neither can the 'actors' speak in them
