Why do movies like these get me obsessed

The moment i saw my family watching this movie in the living room i thought that this would be a good movie, but when i watched it I thought that it was terrible. Around the next day or two i began to like it more and more. And as the days went by of pondering about it I became more interested. It seems that I always make more of the movie then it really is. I try to make up rationalizations as to why they do the things they do, even if its just the smallest thing. I figure that there is this whole other mystery to the movie that i apparently cant figure out because there really is no secret mystery.
