i agree. i thought this movie would be provocative and exciting, but it was just really lame. there was absolutely no plot, no drama, no excitement, no message, no redeeming qualities whatsoever, just utter disappointment. the director tries to make the film seem really deep and meaningful through minimalistic storytelling, but when there just isn't a story, it appears really pretentious and makes the whole movie pointless.
it would probably help if the filmmakers actually understood the complex social/political issues driving violent insurgencies and suicide bombings, but this film just portrays them as mindless, emotionally aloof, irrational killers. it really makes me wonder if the the filmmakers did any research at all before attempting this project.
the subject of this film had a lot of potential if only it were done by someone with some shred of talent. but this was not the intelligent, culturally insightful film that i'd hoped it would be. it provides absolutely no insight into the issues or motivations behind suicide bombings and does not do justice to this very sensitive subject.

there's 3 things i gotta say about your comment:
1) the movie has no inent of showing the complexity of social/political issues that drive to suicide bombing, so I don't understand why you are complaining about something the movie just wasn't supposed to be and that isn't in fact.
2) the filmmakers surely did some research and I can tell you that by the details.
3) the movie took a lot of talent on it. the acting is great and even when it comes to the main character--the bomber--sometimes i get the feeling it's not a movie but a real video made with a hidden camera.
