Prince caspain screwed up big time.

I agree with Peter completely, if prince caspain stuck to doing what the plan was Miras wouldn't have woken up and stopped the attack, the gate would be open and they would have won the battle and killed Miras or trapped him, the hate everybody placed on Peter was misplaced, it was a solid plan and very well thought out so why did all the narnians hate on Peter when he got back?

Part of the problem is that the Narnians have mostly just been sitting around expecting that Peter is going to be able to fix everything that`s wrong immediately.
Unfortunately while he has a key role in creating change he just can`t do it on his own and fails to see that to start with and as a result some of the Narnians turn to other powers when he dosn`t deliver immediately.

A problem that the film fails to address and its not entirely clear even in the book its based on is why Aslan failed to prevent the Telmarine invasion centuries earlier and the only conclusion that seems to be plausable is that there was some sort of breakdown in his relationship with the Narnians that prevented him from acting.
So, in order to fix things the Pevensies have to return to find him again and re-establish the link.

So, from Peter`s point of view the situation is.
He`s regressed a bit to being a teenage boy in England but is beginning to have his Narnian skills restored since he`s returned.
He has found himself faced with fighting a war leading a totally untrained rabble that can hardly be called an army against an enemy force that`s far better organised and trained than Jadis`s army ever was.
He`s not got enough time to organise a better fighting force so he goes for the best option which is the attack on the Castle with the best fighters he has.
Not a bad idea as its something the Telmarines don`t expect but its a very risky all or nothing plan which as pointed out Caspian screws up!
(Though somebody should have thought to bring a 6` length of timber to wedge under that portcullis!)

His big mistake is to assume that as High King "The buck stops here" but he`s still thinking of his siblings as younger kids and not as the co-rulers they once were, particularly Lucy who as the one with the strongest connection to Aslan has already seen him and has the best idea as to what needs to be done.
I.E somebody has to go and actively LOOK for Aslan and not just passively sit around waiting for him to turn up.
