Totally Bakwas

A badly made shoddy movie. Abhishek tries too hard , Aish is all plastic and now even anemic and old.
Mani was always dissapointing, none of his Hindi movies have been superhits anyways.

The music and Mithunda are the only redeeming features of this otherwise utterly bakwas piece of cinematic toil.

super hit tells you nothing but the fact that the film was marketed well and made a ton of money. There are actually great films that make no money! But you're too blunt to know that! You yourself are totally bakwaas!

And all that is coming from an idiot who claimed Salaam-E-Ishq was the best movie of the century! I pity you! If you think all movies are bakwaas except those who do financially good, then watch movies after a month of their release.

reply

Aww i think you are just an Abhishek fan how else could you like this piece of utter trash called Gobar i mean Guru.

Ps: This movie is bad and doing badly! They (Big Dad et all) are now resorting to desperate gimmicks like announcing Abhisheks Engagement to Plastic Aishwarya to bring in the crowds. Tch Tch.

Calonclick,
If you want to make statements about me, PLEASE make sure they are cent percent true. For your info, I dislike Abhishek.

And for your info, it's been claimed a hit. A HIT. The performances were all better than that crap movie you claimed was the best of the century. Seriously get a life man!

i agree..guru was 1 of the worst movies i have ever seen..mayb it will be liked by businessmens but not by ordinary people..this movie bombed in india and elsewhere..if u want to watch a good movie watch vivah..1 of the best movies and the most inspiring movie of all time..the movie is a big superhit all over and its still going strong right now in its 13th week and going towards silver jubliee..amazing acting by shahid and amrita..abhishek and aish screwed up big time

reply

Vivah is a very simple movie, not as complex and filled with important and strong themes like Guru...Imo, its like they say: "Different tastes for different people" so while most here didn't enjoy it, I actually thought it was a very well made film and only goes to show how much indian cinema is improving these days...I look forward to seeing Eklavya, it looks promising as for Salam-E-Ishq, I would'n bother watching!

reply

hey..why fight it out here ppl??..its a movie review site damnit!..either help others by giving useful reviews on the movie in context or please stop slamming dat keyboard like a typewriter, with utter nonsense!!

After watching the film I just talked about Dhirubhai, Goenka, Nusli wadia and Rajiv Gandhi. If you guys are talking about Abhishek and AR Rahman then i think you have missed the point. There is a lot of bakwas like coconut trees in Gujrat but try to see under what circumstances Mani Ratnam is making a film on DhiruBhai and actually showing some reality.

reply

let me reiterate, Mithuda was brilliant in his portrayal of the newspaper baron, as was the music (AR Rehman is an unquestionable genius). And just when he was running away with the show his role was cruelly snipped out to accommodate a certain junior B who, lets face it, is in serious need to take some lessons in good acting.

The overall direction was pathetic to say the least.

I feel you're being too harsh! Hmmm the movie wasn't a masterpiece but it was way better than the chick flicks that the Indian audience loves. I felt that the songs were COMPLETELY unnecessary and were only done for publicity, especially the Mallika Sherawat song, it breaks the continuity of the story. I personally felt that Vidya Balan's role was unnecessary and it made the movie deviate from the main plot. I prefer movies that are short and crisp, this one sadly was not but it wasn't a total bakwas either. That sort of title should be reserved for movies like fight club.
