It looks like it's not happening in 2006, but it's been filmed, so I have to think it'll happen at some point. The television year doesn't end until May and there are still a couple of sweeps periods to come before summer reruns set in. I wouldn't give up yet.

So you think it will air sometime in the beginning of 2007? Let me introduce myself - I'm Karen & saw the original when I was 15 yrs old. I've been looking forward to this movie since I first found out it was being remade. I've written my local paper, Parade magazine, etc. even looked all over the Internet & can't find any air date info! I just can't understand why it won't air after they spent all that money & effort into filming it, so I hope you're right.

We've all been wondering this for the past several months. Someone said there was a bit about it on ET back in August or September and that's the last we've heard. It's reportedly in post-production. My hope is they're wanting it to be the best show possible and are in no rush to put out a less that excellent product. So until then we have the book and the Sybil (1976) dvds, which is not shabby!
In the meantime, there's a lot of good posts on the original Sybil board you might enjoy reading and responding to. Welcome aboard.

Hi, Karen! I agree that it seems unlikely that they would spend all that money and then not show the movie, although I don't have any concrete information either. I check the CBS website periodically, but nothing has shown up so far. As Indy mentioned, elea1 saw a small blurb on ET or a similar show about the new movie with a few clips, but that's been it so far. I love the original and I'm curious to see what they do with this remake, although I can't imagine it will be as good. Hopefully we'll have the chance to find out one of these days!
