Will Be On Lifetime This Coming Weekend Feb 21, 2009

I just saw this advertized that it will debut on Lifetime this Saturday night at 9 pm 8 pm central. I had read posts on here of many who didnt get to see it or that they thought it would only be shown that one time back in June. Ive not seen it and hope I dont miss it.

I don't want to miss it either! I'm a big fan of the original 1976 version starring Sally Field, and I am eager to catch the Tammy Blanchard version and see how it measures up.

I already saw the 1976 version in my psychology class last year, and i'm watching the new one right now. So far, it's really good! They're different from each other depending on the personalities they show. The actors are great! Sally Field and Tammy Blanchard are neck-to-neck so far.

Well I guess I missed it for I dont recall it at all and I am just now reading these posts to my original post. I saw the original one again at some point. Maybe tha twas the one I was thinking was going to show. I recall that it was the first time I had ever heard of Brad Davis and I loved him in the movie with Sally Field. I researched him after and found out he had died in real life and had done other really good movies which I still have not seen.

So I guess you saw the newer one and liked it. I even forgot there was a newer one. I

I've wanted to see this movie for at least a year and was thrilled when I saw it was going to be on Lifetime. I taped it on a VCR tape too. I don't know which one I like better. I thought they were both good, I liked the newer version because it seemed to follow the book more and it showed a little of the crap that Dr. Wilbur had to put up with.

Yes, it was definitely truer to the book than the '76 version, simply because some of the heinous things that occured in Sybil's life wouldn't have been allowed to have been shown on 1970's network television. Tammy Blanchard was terrific, and is becoming one of my favorite actresses.
