It's Almost Like a Public Access Show Now

Yeah Kevin was bad but at least he added to the overall production value of the show. Since he is gone the show is really starting to tank. The guy that they got this week is absolutely terrible and really shows that Candice can't carry the show on her own at all. This will probably push for the show to either get completely revamped or cancelled entirely.

I really liked Marc Maron today as co-host. His extended interview with John Oliver was very funny. Maron is the best guest co-host I've seen so far. All the others are a little dull.

Richard Lewis has been calling Marc trying to get his act back.

I hope he returns it.

Seriously though, I'm tired of the "jew with anxiety" gimmick. Something more positive and witty is far better.

I was a big fan of Lewis back in the day. For some reason when I was a kid this was one of my favorite quotes: "I've always been a hypochondriac. As a little boy I'd eat my M&Ms one by one with a glass of water."

For me there's enough of a difference between Maron and Lewis' schtick and so far Maron has been a hell of a lot more interesting than the other guest co-hosts. If they don't hire him permanently, there's always his podcast

Chris is way better and more appropriate for the demographic that watches the show.

Maron is too much like John Stewart/Richard Lewis and I find that whining "I've got anxiety" jewish humor exhausting. However, I found Maron's interviews to be amusing and he's good at his type of humor, but it's not right for an upbeat show.

I think he'd be great on an interview program rather than a wacky pop culture show. Also, I don't think he knows the cultural material the program covers.

It's true, he doesn't know the program's material very well. He plays it off pretty well though. I suspect he'd get into it a lot more if he thought he might do this for a while. Normally I'd rather have someone who is well familiar with it already, but I'm open to him learning along the way. They've got other experts there who help take up the slack.

I wish I didn't zone out with the other guest co-hosts. It's worth it to tune in for the hour just to see Maron's interviews.

Maron is a good interviewer but that is it.

This show needs to find someone with extremly good on-screen chemistry with Candace. You can say what you want about Kevin, he had extremely good chemistry with Candace and it paid off whenever they were on-screen, together. Even when their lines were horrible, one would save the other in a way that almost made you feel as though they could finish each other's sentences.

That "production value" was called charisma, and people were joking when they said Kevin sucked. The guys hosting now are god awful. The only one that made me laugh was the guy from The League.
