Good thing you made sure to put a well-thought out post about why you believe it sucks..

It has nothing to do with being impressive. It's just ridiculously fun..a real guitar isn't nearly as fun.

Why do all the haters seem to believe EVERYONE thinks they are awesome guitar gods just because they play this game??? I'm sure alot of us have a meet one of two of those idiots but they are hopefully a minority. People play the game because it's fun. Nothing to do with real guitar. It's fun. It's a challenge. It's addictive. That's it. If you wanna act all high and mighty because you can play real guitar that's your loss. I know a few real guitar players who love the game, play it alot, and have nothing against it. Maybe you would too if you could just take it for what it was and stop with this assumption that people think it's like real guitar.
People don't say this stuff about sports games. Just because someones good at a football videogame doesn't mean they are in real life. Nobody would ever even think that. Many real life sports stars are known to love videogames based on their sport. It's only entertainment. They aren't related at all.
And also, I'm sure it's pushed alot of kids onto learning the real thing. That can't be bad.

This game is a waste of time. People who still play it will eventually realize "Hey, wait, I can't play real music with this... *beep*
And then all those hours will have gone to waste developing talent for a temporary fad.

Get a real guitar. The ability lasts a life-time, you can play whatever song you'd like to with an -OH MY GOD- AN INFINITE SET LIST!!!!

So you can pay a bunch of money for a few songs, or you can pay about the same amount of money and spend about the same amount of time learning to play ANY SONG YOU WANT on a real guitar.

To you people saying "Its funner than a real guitar", are you *beep* kidding me? Are you fatter than hell?

That's like saying all Harry Potter fans are going the realize they can't really do magic. Or all fans of WoW will realize that they are not goblins. Who gives a crap. GUESS WHAT! You will never REALLY BE ABLE to use a lighsaber! You are not REALLY talking to me right now, why don't you take the time and come down (or up) here and have a real conversation with actually moving lips? Oh oh oh, I know. Because you don't want to. Just like a lot of people don't care to learn to play guitar.

I've tried playing real guitar. It did not entertain me nearly as much. In fact, I found it a bit boring.

Fans of those series realize that. Hence, they are in the genre of fads dubbed "Fantasy".
But Guitar Hero? Its like if there was a game called "Marijuana Smoking Hero". Sure, it might be fun to have to time your hits, the holding of the choke, and the length of time spent lighting the bowl in an on-screen simulation, but wouldn't it be a hell of a lot more fun to just light up a bowl and smoke in real life?

TOO MUCH HAIR!! CANNOT SEE!! CANNOT SEEEEE!!!

Sad thing is, a game named "Marijuana Smoking Hero" would probably sell... a lot...

It would if it were fun. And that's not sad.

But that's completely different because that actually probably is more fun (I've never even been drunk) and I don't see how that could be fun in the first place. Why don't people call out racing games and say they should become Nascar drivers? Why shouldn't people really shoot people? I don't think any of those things are funner in real life.
