Paul Stanley is very conspicuous by his absence on this show. We see Tommy and Eric from time to time but it seems Paul is purposely not shown at all. Even in the episode where he was ill before a show, we didn't see him. I wonder if it's by Paul's request? I never really got the feeling Gene and Paul are friends anyway. Gene always talks about how much he respects Paul as a "business partner" and how loyal they are to each other, but he never mentions friendship.
shareGene posted on his site, that he asked Paul to be on it, but Paul is a very private person and does not want to partake. Ace and Peter have been asked to be in the ROAST ep. Ace wanted to do it, but when he called Peter and Paul they said they werent doing it and neither did he.
There is supposed to be a KISS reality show this fall, maybe that why Family Jewels was so short this season. But a season 5 is already being shot according to Shannon Tweeds Twitter.
Gene and Paul are friends. Gene has referred to Paul as "the brother I never had".
Does that mean they always agree? no. But they have a respect for echother and care about echother.

Paul was finally on it last night. They have been showing him more and more, if nothing else than on stage performing.
I can't believe that with a hard rocking band like KISS, with all their gimicks the the two founding members do not drink at all. That is very rare. Especially back in the 70s when they formed.
I wondered this too. I wondered if maybe Gene's dad drank and thats why Gene doesnt. Gene's dad walked out on Gene and his mom and maybe he was a drinker and thats what kept Gene from being one?
I thought it was odd too that he never did drugs or drank in the 1970's, but he's pretty conservative and tight-assed in a way, not to mention that he seems to have a lot of will power. So, I assume he made his mind up that it was bad for him and he didnt want it?
On the subject of Paul Stanley, we did see his wife in one episode as she was going to go out with Shannon somewhere. You'd think Paul would have at least made 1 appearance for Gene's sake.
When you saw Paul's "wife" in that one episode, it was actually his ex-wife. So why would Paul want to make an appearance with his ex-wife? The ex-wife probably wanted to be on the show to get noticed and jump start her failed acting career.
Paul has appeared a couple times on the show now, but he doesn't want to be on it regularly. He isn't jealous. He just wants to keep his private life private. He doesn't want to whore out his private life for more money. He HAS money already.

I just noticed and questioned that the last time I watched it, myself. Paul always seemed like an attention/media whore to me, so I wondered if there was a touch of jealousy there, that Gene got his own show and Paul didn't.
