ADOPT A CHILD?? ARE YOU KIDDING?????

This topic is totally ridiculous. What bothers me most is the fact that Gene and Shannon as a couple would not even be remotely considered eligible to adopt a child if they weren't rich as hell.

Gene is in his mid 60's, pushing on 70 years old. Normal people that are middle class or even upper class wouldn't even be considered to adopt a child at that age.

Shannon is having big time 'empty nest syndrome'. Lately when I watch her, she comes across as acting very immature in her remarks and actions, sometimes actually acting like a teenager. She must be having hormone imbalances or something because I've not seen her act like this in the past. She's not a 'spring chicken' either.

C'mon people, especially agencies that would even consider them!!!!! You can tell that Gene doesn't want to do this, and the kids sure don't. I don't blame the kids for feeling like it's an exchange or swap for them not being babes anymore.

GROW UP SHANNON AND ACT YOUR AGE, this is unbelievable!!!!!

I know...this "storyline" is getting old & ridiculous.

From what I've read about the recent adoptions of other celebrities it does not happen when you want it to like Shannon thinks it does. It usually takes a couple of years & you don't get the first child you apply for...sometimes it's the 7th child you finally get. Shannon is going to get her heart broken if she keeps this pressure up.

You'd be surprised what agencies would do & the ages of their parents they would place a child with. Meg Ryan is not a "spring chicken" either & she was able to adopt a little girl...Madonna should be the last person on earth to be considered to adopt a child...she was able to adopt 2 & she's no "spring chicken" either...I think she & Shannon are the same age.

But they won't let them adopt if the other children are against it & it seems like Sophie & Nick are dead set against it...weird considering what Sophie is doing in Canada ..helping set up a center for children who come from abused homes...

Totally agree with you Jude.

Surprisingly, both Nick and Sophie seem to have a good head on their shoulders. They've had a silver spoon in their mouths their whole life but don't seem to take it for granted completely.

It's wonderful what Sophie is doing. I wonder though if her doing that is maybe because she realizes how lucky she is or maybe that is also the reason why she disagrees with this adoption. Maybe she feels as if the child will just grow up spoiled rotten, especially with them being away from the home? Maybe she can see that her mom is rushing into this and seems like 'empty nest syndrome'??

I have total respect for Sophie doing what she is. She has immense integrity and caring!

I think she tried to bully Gene into the whole adoption thing and it was wrong. The reaction she had when he told her that adopting was a bad idea reminded me of "how dare you disagree with me, I'll leave again and you can beg me to come back". Spoiled brat. She is using his past mistakes as leverage, even if she doesn't come right out and say it that is what she is doing. Granted, she raised her kids pretty much by herself and all, but she knew what she was walking into when she took up with ol' Gene Simmons. Come on. Now she wants symapthy and praise and on top of that, it looks to me like she wants payback too. She is going to make him PAY bigtime for all his past indiscretions. She is another one that needs to lay off the surgeries. If you look really close she looks almost as bad as Tracy. Yes, once in a while they forget the airbrush filter on the camera while fliming. LOL! The rest of her body shows her age too and if you notice she keeps that pretty covered. I am not say she is fat by any means, but she ain't too skinny and she also has hanging skin like most women her age. Give it up honey. They need to concentrate on themselves and their marriage and forget about the adopting. I am so glad they did!

the whole adoption storyline is scripted. why would they want to adopt a child now? its obvious to me that the show is running out of ideas and needs something to fill the episodes.

adoption isn't going to happen.

Maybe it was scripted initially, but don't think it is now. Watch Shannon's expressions. She would want another child because she has 'empty nest syndrome'. Nobody else agrees with her so there isn't a 'they'.

I'm sorry, there's no Santa either. The whole thing is a farce. Remember a couple seasons ago she talked about having another baby and that was so ridiculous because she's like 55, so now she's adopting. It's all scripted. Reality TV is not real.

I agree. At there ages, having a child should be the last thing they want. They did do good job with Nick and Sophie however.

Gene and Shannon should adopt an orphaned member of the KISS Army.
