My thoughts on 'it's fake'

Nick stated that one thing that bothers him about airing out their problems on TV was that some people (my guess is blowhards that just love to hear themselves talk) would claim they are being phony. Well, why should I buy into your claims of the show being scripted? Why shouldn't I give Nick and his family the benefit of the doubt? You wanna point the accusatory finger with nothing factual or concrete to to back up your claims, that people can see with their own eyes, that it's scripted. And not "because you say/think so." You guys act like there's no possible way this family could be going through all the crap they are going through, that it has GOT to be phony. Unless you've ever walked a mile in a Rock Star's shoes, you have no idea. I've been a KISS fan for at least 25 years. Everything Gene's finally coming to terms with, his ego, his holier than thou attitude, he can do no wrong, the mess he's in with his family, because he's been held on a pedestal for over 35 years, it's very real. To suggest they are doing it for the ratings is ludicruos. I've seen Rock Stars go through so much crap over the years, hitting rock bottom, I have no reason to think that the Simmons family are less than genuine. David Lee Roth let his ego destroy the relationship with one of the best Rock bands that walked the earth. David's a complete idiot. It's takin' beatin' Gene over the head, but I think he's finally getting it. And I hope to God everything gets fixed before he wastes it all with his family. If he marrys Shannon, and cuts way down on touring, or even stops, more power to him.

i dont watch the show all the time, but two definite "fake" scenes. One, Gene in a restaurant eating, and Shannon calling beacuse he is missing their date. and also Shannon looking on the computer and seeing gene walking out of a club with a hot girl, then she starts crying.

they film a scene where shannon and gene talk about a date, then film gene in a restaurant, then film one where shannon is "calling" his phone. Then go home for the day. they dont film 24/7 hoping for something to happen. you think they film shannon surfing the web, checking emails for 3 hours? no, just that "omg, this changes everything" email

the show almost certainly stages things. i cant imagine there being a camera crew in the house from sunrise to sunset. like most "reality shows" they plan for something to happen, and are there to film it.

Somebody called Shannon and told her to check the internet because those pictures were on it ....she didn't just happen to see them by accident.

They were supposed to have a family night with the kids but the business meeting was more important to Gene and of course he brought along the girls so it would seal the deal.

When Shannon started crying the film crew left the room. Same as the other night when Shannon flew to the Kiss concert and Gene wanted to talk to her he asked for them to leave the room and they did. They hung around outside and tried to get some soundbits but you couldn't really hear what they were saying.

do you think they were filming Shannon every night while she is going to bed, waiting for someone to text her with something interesting to use on the show.
no, they just film Shannon looking at her phone, then looking at her laptop at the picture.

What does that prove? Unless you're there watching every minute of the taping, you have no clue when and how often they tape. You're just like other other people who gossip. Post crap with nothing to back you up, and hope someone believes you. What you're accusing does NOT prove that the show is scripted, like there are directors calling the shots. That's just dumb to even suggest such a thing. Here's what i know, and what is common knowlege, They tape hours and hours, Then they EDIT. They take the most interesting, funny and poignant parts to air on the show, the rest goes into the archives. What are you, a teenager? 20 something? You are either too young to get it, or you you have tunnel vision. All you can see is what you want to believe. You said yourself you don't watch the show all the time. What, you watch a few episodes and now you've got it ALL figured out? You enjoy pointing the finger, yet offer no facts to back your claim. Again, "Because you think so." doesn't cut it.

The facts are in the show. it is do clear that some scenes are staged and badly acted. two scene i recently saw... gene and shannon are in europe reading fan mail, and they read one kid's mail. then the kid shows up later asking for a interview, he is clearly a bad child actor.

another scene. Sophie and Nick join gene on tour. First Gene tells his therapist to fly over to him. then during the concert the therapist, walks back stage and " just randomly" sees sophie reading a book. then they awkwardly start a random therapy session. the therapist talks the way all reality people talk, asking how they feel about the situation with no build up talking , thats not how real people talk.

you really think they were paying a camera man to follow the therapist everywhere she went during that concert? or a cameraman standing there while Sophie reads a book backstage? hoping that something will happen they can edit together later. they show is on a schedule, they cant leave things up to chance

I'm watching the ep right now & the last person mentioned this: the therapist came back after she left & Sophie just happened to be sitting by herself & the therapist said she “forgot her purse" - right.

I am so disappointed they chose this theme for the show. Shannon & Gene have lived together for 27 yrs & the big "joke" has been about Gene's conquests – they talk about it all the time & even had the ep with the lie detector test.

Gene going to Israel & meeting his brother & sisters was huge; very moving & entertaining; they didn't need to throw in this other crap.

Social media & viewer sophistication help form whether we will suspend our disbelief when it comes to reality shows.

Everything this season is out of sequence - Shannon is staying in Canada with her family & it is snowing. They went to Israel after that - not too long ago - because Shannon tweeted the whole time. Now we are seeing teasers for the finale that Gene is going to ask her to marry him. + When they were promoting this season, after everything was filmed & edited, Shannon gets all huffy & walks out on the Joy Behar show. That was so phony & hilarious.

I like this show but not this theme - Nick just told Gene he was not a good dad; we know that is acting. Really disappointed.

"the rest goes into the archives"

I think it ends up on the cutting room floor & then later in the dust bin (trash)
