I wish that in that dog scene.....

the military cop guy had killed his superior before he went into the house to murder the dog. as soon as the dog barked, and they stopped walking and the bad guy turned his head, I was saying to the tv "kill him! shoot him now before he goes in there!"

Yes, that was a pretty upsetting scene. However, it could have been worse. The dog's death was mercifully kept off-camera. Given the sheer brutality of this film up to that point, I wasn't quite sure how that scene was going to pan out.

I was doing the exact same thing!

Cats are delicate dainty animals who suffer from a variety of ailments ... except insomnia.

I'm an animal lover but that's silly. Surely he would've been executed for killing that guy. War is hell. Women are raped, children are killed, and innocent people (and animals) die on both sides.

That scene was meant to show he wasn't just a mindless killing machine. He has feelings.

Yeah I could just picture him slapping the superior over the head when he came back from shooting the dog and yelling at him: "what the f-ck did you just do right now, you silly twit?!" Could have shocked the bastard so bad he may have recondidered all that foolishness about the Emperor and his army and "honor" rammed into his noggin right there.
