Anyone liked it better than part 1?

I think Hostel: Part II is one of those rare sequels that is actually better than its predecessor. It takes what worked fine in the original and also adds new interesting ideas (we get to see the POV from the organisation), thus bringing it to perfection. I think the concept also works much better with female protagonists.

I completely agree. First, the villains of the piece clearly learned from the mistakes that allowed Paxton to escape in part one, and the villains are clearly more organized, they represent a serious threat. the final lesson of 'you have to join them to be able to leave' i thought it was a much more intense movie, and a more successful story. don't know if it was more successful financially, but i like the second a lot more.

yes,
everything is better in this sequel, especially the cinematography

Yep, count me in. I liked aspects of the first one but overall didn't feel it was a success, whereas with the sequel I felt like letting the viewer in on things and having it be from the perspective of the bad guys made for more effective storytelling.

I like the second movie better too.

Definitely on that short list of superior sequels.

The first movie was good. This one is much better, though. Lauren German and Bijou Phillips were awesome in this.

Courtney Love did not kill Kurt Cobain.

I agree, much better. Because Richard Burgi.

Oh, and because Lauren German character wins.

I agree with all the comments posted on this thread. Confounds me why Hostel: Part 1 rates a half point higher. BTW, Heather Matarazzo's (Lorna) performance deserves to be applauded too.

I thought it was good for a straight up sequel and that it was just as good as it's predecessor. This felt like the second half of the first movie, very similar as I assume they intended.
