Surprisingly entertaining

Expecting direct-to-video drivel, I didn't set my hopes very high on this film. Especially when after watching the first few minutes, I realized it's the kind of sequel that basically re-does the original film with different characters.

Only... I was actually kept entertained the whole time, which surprised me a lot. Angie Harmon didn't strike me as the kind of actress that could pull off such a bitchy character, and in some ways she falls flat, but when she hits the right note she's actually great. Diane Lane was better though. That said, one of the things I found eerily disturbing was the meticulous way in which she folded the kitchen towels, every time she did it it sent shivers down my spine for some reason.

The movie isn't extraordinary by any means, then again, neither was the first one, but I found it pretty acceptable, although perhaps a bit too over the top towards the ending which cheapens the film as a whole. I also liked the house despite not being titularly made of glass, interesting architecture which I guess must be Californian?
