kinda lame, hope it gets better

the canned laughter is really horrible. and its kinda gay-ing me out a bit. i mean i think they could have an entire sketch without the punchline being 'gay'. it has some good moments though. it needs to be more kids in the hall, they need to bring scott thompson on the show to direct or something.

It is pretty damn cheesy. But kinda funny.

Scott Thompson! Yes! I miss him on First Comes Love! But Elvira's not so bad.

Don't judge what you don't understand.

the new episode was actually better. logo needs to give them some money to fancy it all up though.

reply

I think this show just keeps getting worse. I was really hoping this show would be great but it's really pretty awful.

And I agree the canned laughter is horrendous.

You must be awfully young...it's not canned laughter as I hear it..I hear an actual studio audience. There's a huge difference between a "laughtrack" and the sounds of an actual audience. For example, catch an episode of the Brady Bunch and an episode of ..oh...let's say the Mary Tyler Moore show. Personally..I LOVE the sound of an audience cracking up..makes me feel as though I was there. Sometimes the noises an audience makes are funnier than the show itself...That's my two (2) cents.Take it or leave it. TBGSS is a riot.

i like the show, its getting better. the sterotypical lesbian skits are hilarious!

reply

Well, I sadly do not get the LOGO channel, but was able to catch an episode on comcast on-demand. It's like Saturday Night Live...it has funny sketches and not so funny sketches. I love the "When I Knew" segments!

Yeah I really wish they'd take out the laugh track. It's distracting and EVERYBODY knows it's fake, so why bother? The show has some hysterical moments and also some TERRIBLE moments. I think the women are given funnier material, which I don't mind because they're hot. I appreciate the amazing voices some of them can do. Like any sketch show though, it has it's filler skits and the skits that have one note of clever-ness and go on for way too long. It's finding it's feel though. I don't get Logo anymore, so I just buy them on itunes. I think I like episode 2 the best. Episode 5 was disappointing.

Wow...this show is bad. One or two of the performers are ok, but the rest are really weak. And the so-called comedy isn't funny. Someone needs to tell the writers that it takes more than a lesbian dressed in a flannel shirt and hiking to make people laugh. And, you know, just because they're gay performers, it doesn't mean tat every, single punchline has to be "GAY!!!!"

I really wanted to like this show, so I gave it a few episodes to get better, and it's only gotten worse. LOGO needs to hire some real talent.

reply

i dont know, i always end up in hysterics the lesbian speed dating and sexline.

and lets not forget fitswiliman talking with his unicorn, his excuses like "she cant help it, shes grew up in fostercare" always get me, and there not a gay punchline (come to think of it, the whole fitswiliam scetch is trans, not gay)

if someones only comeback is my bad spelling, then I've beaten them in the argument.

reply

the laughter isn't fake its acutally filled in front of a live audience in a NYC theatre which is partly the reason its kinda lame...plus i could do without Johnny McGovern and dion flynn

reply

I agree muchly with the OP. The whole punchline of every skit doesn't have to come back to just being gay, a technique painfully popularized on "Will & Grace". That's only funny to straight people.

There are so many more in-group aspects of the gay community to poke fun at and satirize. Get on the stick, kids.
