It all started with the board from the beginning...

Me and my friend came up with this explanation, wondering if it's right or not:

So, here we have The Writer who has been trying to come up with an idea for her supernatural book, Re-cycle. She notes them down onto a board, but then, in the first scenes of the film, we see her discard them.

Now, if anybody can translate what is written on this board, I think that they would be zombies, hanged people, abortion etc. --> perhaps an explanation as to why we have multiple types of supernatural entities in the Fantasy World.

SPOILERS SPOILERS

At the end, The Writer says "she would subconsciously put herself into the character". As both of us were searching the boards, many point out that to distinguish between the two versions of the main character is by their glasses. Therefore, all of a sudden (after a sweet transition scene), The Writer suddenly sees ghosts and have no glasses on. And this is when the film, or the writing process of Re-cycle, begins.

Too many similarities, The Writer thought. Which is why some scenes (dunno how many exactly), like the dinner scene and afterwards a red portal with sucking power is seen up in the sky, we see the Fantasy's Ex-Husband looks exactly the same to the one in The Writer's Ex-Husband.

This leads us to the twist: The Writer then discards everything, or the whole film that we watch, to write something else about "reincarnation in China". But this time, we *couldn't offer a good explanation for this*, The Writer's discarded writing piece becomes real and then the whole thing restarts aka a cycle, or a re-cycle.
