does anyone know if this was really filmed in Georgia? I noticed, during the recent war, that Georgia is at the same latitude as my home state of Massachusetts. I know pathetically little about Georgia, apart from that.... anyway, the mountains were very beautiful in this film.

I was wondering the same thing. In the end credits they make no mention of Georgia or Georgian filming locations, however, they do pay tribute to the town of Metz, a town in the Lorraine region of France, and to various of its restaurants and bars. So, I think this was filmed in France, not Georgia. Maybe there's enough similarites so that untravelled viewers won't notice the difference? lol

Tblisi looked nothing like the city I remember, which was a real city and not nearly so run down. But the countryside looked familiar, as did the rickety bus they used to get around.
