I'm a Republican, and thats my opinion on this matter.
If it was done right (and not by toilet Boll). It could indeed be a very good comedy zombie movie, the biggest problem would be the fact that Stubbs isn't the most talkative protaganist in the world so I don't know what the script would be like.
"Hey Earl. I wanna catch that pretty red dot on your back..."
I could see George Romero or the director of Shaun of the Dead doing a movie for stubbs.
shareRomero needs to bow out of the genre forever. He's already done enough damage with the hopelessly stupid Land of the Dead and the shakycam laden junk Diary of the Dead. Romero is just like George Lucas. Both of them think they can just vomit out horrendous junk based on the success of earlier films.

But still since dawn of the dead and land of the dead could reach the theaters. Why not Stubbs the movie?

Actually the closest your going to get to a Stubbs movie for now, with that futuristic 50's feel, is Fido - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457572/ - which was excellent in my opinion and came out not long after Stubbs. :]
