Screening this weekend at the New York Film Festival

I am going to see it there this weekend since it might be the only chance to catch it in the U.S.

It's sad that many excellent foreign films do not get a release over here in the U.S.A. these days. Hopefully some smart distributor will make more foreign films available via download. I would buy them if they did.

Maybe because that would be the only way to watch it?

by reading your msg on this board, i can tell its still a problem to view foreign films in the USA and hasnot changed since 1988 time I was in NYC from 1985. La situation est grave mais pas désespérée! you can all travel to Montreal to see all these foreigm movies. For exemple do a google on "Resnais Coeurs montreal" coeur is due in early 2007 same as "Jean Philippe" another excellent film with very talented actor Fabrice Luchini.
montreal is 6 to 8 hrs drive from NYC the food is great and accommodation far more affordable than in NYC.
NB ExCentris cinema in Montreal is specialised in showing foreign and subtitled films. Lucky you all who can still enjoy the NYFF.

What's the symbolism behind all the snow?? Anybody?

reply

I think the symbolism behind the snow is to show the coldness of all the image's lives.
The cold of the loneliness. Snow falls in thier lives, even in their apartments.
